Message from Mr. Tejkl
Being Present...
Good morning!
What an incredible experience for our students, staff, and patrons to see our school being represented in so many positive ways. We had team successes, individual successes, seeing hard work/dedication pay off, and seeing SRC being represented in so many positive ways. It personally makes me PROUD to be a part of a great school and seeing the many things that happen behind the scenes come to light. Do you know how many hours and early days or late evenings our students/coaches/sponsors put in? How about the amount of blood, tears, bruises, or "toughing it out" situations many go through? The hours of preparation? Or the time away from home? I also want to recognize those that may have nothing to do with the "team" itself but are present and supporting in the hallways, at the events themselves, or making sure they send that message of support. It takes us all and the village provides those opportunities. Thank you to everyone who walks through that door to continue to support each other.
Being present is essential for living a fulfilling and meaningful life. When we focus on the present moment, we fully engage with our surroundings, relationships, and experiences, rather than dwelling on the past or worrying about the future. This mindfulness allows us to appreciate the little details, make deeper connections with others, and reduce stress by letting go of unnecessary anxieties. Being present also enhances productivity and decision-making, as it helps us concentrate on the task at hand without distractions. Ultimately, embracing the present moment leads to greater happiness, improved mental well-being, and a richer, more authentic life.
I continue to struggle with this as I am there but am I truly present? I'd like to think so but I know it isn't 100% of the time. Continue to recognize, take those small steps, and try to enjoy the NOW. Time is a thief and it becomes all too apparent as the year progresses.
Have a great rest of your Sunday!
Quote of the week to reflect on:
"In today's rush, we all think too much - seek too much - want too much - and forget about the joy of just being."
Eckhart Tolle
Sincerely,
Tucker Tejkl
