Happy Fall weather! I don't know about you, but the drop in temperature and the first few days of rain always makes me happy! We've started something new this year to show off some of the work our amazing students do. Each class has chosen a month to display student work on the bulletin board in the entrance of the office. I apologize for not taking a picture of Kaitlyn Nicolai's class for September. This is our current October bulletin board, thanks, to Amanda Morgan's class. Her class is trying a beginning writing skill, Alternative Pencil, that she learned over the summer. Using a combination of student's AAC devices and pointing to letters, students are able to write sentences. We're very proud of our students' growth mindset as they attempt this new skill and thank Amanda for exploring new research to help our students educationally.

Parent Teacher Association (PTA) Parent Teacher Association (PTA)

Our PTA has been very busy and with your help it can be even better! We are continuing our Membership Drive. Please consider joining our PTA. We would love to have parents help us with new ideas to make Ralph an even better place to be. Joining doesn't mean that you have to attend any meetings or get assigned any jobs, it just shows that you are part of the Ralph Richardson community and want to support the school going forward. Please complete the flyer and join today. The PTA website has information that you might find interesting: https://www.rrcpta.org

M.O.V.E. Moment M.O.V.E. Moment

M.O.V.E. stands for Mobility Opportunities Via Education/Experience and is a San Juan sponsored activity-based program designed to teach children with severe disabilities the functional motor skills needed to sit, stand, and walk as independently as possible. We have students and staff working very hard on this every day!

Meet Elham! Elham has worked very hard learning to walk using a gait trainer, and now Elham can take steps with moderate assistance from a person!! In these photos he is standing up and taking steps toward a mat. Way to go Elham, and we are so proud to see how his hard work has paid off!

If you are new to our school, you might be curious about our Harvest Festival. We are holding this event on October 31, from 9:45 a.m. - 11:15 a.m. We will have different games that students will rotate through the preschool quad and play. Just to give you an idea, some of the games include: ring toss, decorating cookies, bowling, and corn hole. Classrooms will be decorating their doors and we will have judges determining the best decorated door. Each class will need a volunteer to run its booth. Please consider volunteering for this easy opportunity to support an event that our kids love to do. This is also a day where students can wear costumes to school.
