National School Counselors Week
This week, we proudly celebrate our amazing school counselor, Mrs. Kate Grau! Mrs. Grau supports our students’ social-emotional growth, helps them navigate big feelings, and works closely with families and staff to ensure every child feels safe, valued, and ready to learn. We are so grateful for her dedication, compassion, and the positive impact she makes each day at Young School!

Wednesday, February 4th “Warm-Up Wednesday” - Students will participate in 60-second movement challenges (i.e., jumping jacks, squats, etc.)

Friday, February 6th- “Friday Finale” - Students and staff are encouraged to show their Olympic Spirit! Welcome Mrs. Worrall
Young School is excited to welcome our new school nurse starting this week, Mrs. Gretchen Worrall! Nurse Worrall brings several years of experience as a BSN, RN, and school nurse. She will be working alongside Nurse Moore. We are thrilled to have her join our Young School community and look forward to the care and expertise she will bring to our students, staff, and families.
Blakely’s Battle Buddies
Blakely is a preschooler in our community who is bravely living with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA). She’s walking with her team, Blakely’s Battle Buddies, in the Arthritis Walk to Cure to help other kids just like her. By joining our walk or making a donation, you can make a real difference. Click the link below to visit our team page and learn more about Blakely’s story. She would love to see other kids there cheering her on!

Together, we can make a big difference—one small step at a time.
PK Lottery is Open
The Burlington Township Board of Education will offer a full day Preschool program for the 2026-2027 school year. The number of available seats will be determined mid-March once budget projections are completed. The 4 year old program will be available for students who are Burlington Township residents and have reached their fourth birthday on or before October 1, 2026. The 3 year old program will be available for students who are Burlington Township residents and have reached their third birthday on or before October 1, 2026. Selection for both programs will be by random lottery drawing for all students who complete and return the Pre-K Enrollment Form by 4:00 P.M. on Wednesday March 11, 2026. Placement may be made in the program at B. Bernice Young School, Bustleton Road Annex, or Five Points Annex.
These forms are accessible from our website under "News and Announcements" at www.burltwpsch.org, clicking the link below, or by visiting the BOE Business Office which is located at 710 Jacksonville Rd. Hopkins Building door #16. Actual student registration will occur following the lottery process.
The links below contain complete details.
Both lotteries will be drawn at the Board of Education Work Session Meeting on Wednesday March 18, 2026 at 6:30 P.M.
The deadline to return the forms is 4:00 P.M. on Wednesday March 11, 2026.
Students that are currently enrolled in the District’s Preschool 3 Year Old Program will automatically be offered a slot in the Preschool 4 Year Old Program. It is not necessary to complete an application for the lottery or go through the registration process again.
Little Falcons, Big Attendance Wins
Try to schedule appointments and family trips outside of school hours whenever possible. Even missing one or two days a month can add up and impact learning. Every day counts!
If you want to check out our district's attendance policy, it can be found here. Student attendance can impact a child's promotion to the next grade level.
