Executive Director Update
As much as I enjoy the vibrancy of Spring and the magic of Fall colors, Winter always impresses me with its bleak beauty--nature pausing to regroup and rest. I am fortunate to be able to simply look out my window and be impressed by the serene starkness of winter. It's now that browns and grays are given their time to shine, which is a good reminder that even the aspects of work or life that can appear unglamorous at first glance are really an opportunity to quietly set the stage for exciting things to come.

As we enter December and bring 2025 to a close, we have the opportunity to pause and reflect on the accomplishments of the past year and regroup for a new year of service to our communities. I wish you and your loved ones a restful December.
Best regards,
Ralph
Announcements
EDI-NJ Institutional Assessment Pilot Project - Extended Deadline through 12/12
EDI-NJ has extended the deadline for the EDI-NJ Institutional Assessment Pilot Program through Friday, December 12, 2025. This statewide initiative supports New Jersey libraries in strengthening their equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) practices through structured assessment, reflection, and action. We are inviting a total of 10 libraries to participate, and there are still a few remaining spots available for your library to join the project.
Participating libraries will receive individualized consulting (1-hour onboarding debrief and 4 hours of consulting) with an EDI consultant to interpret results and create actionable plans. Following the creation of their EDI action plans, participating libraries will be expected to begin making progress on their stated goals. We will check in with libraries three months and six months after the action plan is created for progress updates. EDI-NJ will not set each library’s action plan implementation timeline, as each library will progress at its own pace.
Participation is free of cost. If your library is committed to advancing equity and inclusion and to shaping this important statewide resource, we encourage you to apply. Please review the pilot overview, eligibility criteria, and timeline before submitting your application:

Delivery Reminder
There will be no statewide delivery service and the LibraryLinkNJ office will be closed on December 25, 2025, in observance of the Christmas Holiday.
Do you have any blue bins?
If you are holding any extra Blue Bins that your library is not utilizing please leave them for your TForce Driver and they will take them. TForce is running low on LLNJ bins that we supply to libraries.
If you are no longer enrolled in the statewide delivery service and you are holding any LLNJ delivery supplies (Blue Bins, Plastic Bags), please contact Jennifer Bruno at jennifer@librarylinknj.org and we will arrange pickup of the supplies.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Adult Craft Show & Share! It was a great turnout, with library staff from multiple counties coming together to swap inspiration, discuss program ideas, and share creative inspiration! Our Swap Shop was a hit as well: lots of materials found new homes, and attendees left with fresh program ideas to bring back to their libraries.
We’re so grateful to Parsippany Library for partnering with us and to all the participants whose enthusiasm made the event such a success!
Click here to view the Resource Guide that attendees created after the Craft show & Share! It's full of adult craft program suggestions and ideas - including instructions, links to videos, tips on where to get materials, and more!
Another thank you to everyone who came out for the fall Book Mending Workshop! Both sessions were fully booked, and participants got hands-on practice with essential repair techniques.
We’re grateful to Stephanie Sussmeier for sharing her expertise and to Wright Library at Princeton Theological Seminary for hosting us. It was a productive, skill-building day, and we’re thrilled to see your enthusiasm for caring for your circulating collections!
