How Are Vermont Schools Funded?
Vermont Public Radio provides a good explanation of how Vermont schools are funded in THIS piece. The article and the video work well to bring clarity to a confusing system :).
The Wilder School (TWS) is funded a little differently than what is explained in the above resource. While (TWS) is a part of the Hartford School District (HSD), TWS's budget is compromised by revenue from a tuition charge for every student that attends the school. The tuition is billed to the sending School Districts/Supervisory Unions where each student lives. This includes students from the HSD. The HSD pays a tuition for each of the students that live in the Town of Hartford and attend TWS .

Vermont AOE Listen and Learn Sessions
The Vermont Agency of Education announced the next phase of its 2024 Listen and Learn Tour, inviting educators and broader public to participate in discussions about Vermont’s education goals and to support development of the Agency’s strategic priorities. Following a series of data reporting and regional planning sessions with education leaders, the Agency is eager to expand these conversations to include the broader education community, inclusive of teacher, educators, and other school or district staff.
Public engagement sessions running at each site from 6:00pm-8:00pm.
Educator sessions are for educators and other school or district staff only and are closed to the public.
General Public Engagement - Please share broadly with your school communities
Each public engagement session will take place after the educator sessions from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Every session will begin with introductory information and data to support more in-depth conversations, followed by breakout sessions on topics related to student achievement and support, career and college readiness, and school budgets, among other emerging priorities.
Please check the Listen and Learn webpage to see the most up to date public engagement schedules, links for virtual sessions and information on language accessibility. While not required, pre-registration is encouraged using the online registration form, Listen and Learn Registration (cognitoforms.com). Please email aoe.publicinformation@vermont.gov with questions.

Improvements to the TWS Library
Angie Terrill, the Reading Specialist at TWS, has led the initiative to redesign the space and increase the availability of books in the library.
