MP Thank You Trees
We are very fortunate at Manchester Park to have outstanding specialists and support staff! While at the building for PT Conferences, please take a second to pick up a "leaf" on displays in the main hallway to send in a requested school supply for these committed folks.
Thank you!!
MP Career Day
MP Career Day Needs You
We are planning to hold our first MP Career Day for all grade levels on April 20. With all the talented professionals in various career paths among our MP families, we are hoping some of you will consider being a part of this day.
Although April seems like a long time out, it will take a great deal of planning to bring this event to our Timberwolves. Filling out the interest form does not commit you to the event, but provides an opportunity for you to learn more. After entering your information, one of our counselors will contact you with additional information.
Link to the interest form is below:
Great Son Plus One!
MP Parents, YOU SHOWED UP!
This week brought a lot of volunteer needs—from Book Fair to Son + 1—and time and time again, our MP parents stepped up and made it happen.
Whether you signed up before our call for action or jumped in after, we see you and we appreciate you! Our school community is better because of the people who are willing to give their time and lend a hand.
From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU for showing up for our Timberwolves!
Yours truly,
The MP PTO Board
New KS Assessment Program
We are thrilled to share an exciting landmark in our assessment system! Starting this school year, our students in English Language Arts (Grades 3–5) and Mathematics (Grades 3–10) will no longer sit for the traditional, high-stakes end-of-year KAP state assessment. Instead, state accountability scores and proficiency levels will be drawn directly from our quarterly through-course check-ins. These are the same high-quality benchmark assessments our teachers have successfully used in our classrooms for years in a formative manner to guide daily instruction.
This means all Olathe students in grades 3-5 will have several KS Assessment dates throughout the school year to help us better track inidvidual student progress. Be sure to reach out to your student's teacher for specific testing dates so you can avoid taking students out for appointments and special events.

Spanish Immersion Aide Opening
We have a position open for an instructional aide in our Spanish Immersion program. If you know of someone who is fluent in both Spanish and English, and has the skills to work with young learners, this may be for them.
Anyone interested in this position, should apply on the district website and then contact Jenny Steele at jlsteele@olatheschools.org
Halloween at MP
MP will be celebrating Halloween on Friday, October 30.
Please make note of specifics below.
9:15 AM, Costume Parade
- Students are to wear costumes to school that day.
- Parents should send in a bag for costume storage if student prefers.
- Parade will take place outside, so parents may see our little goblins by standing in front and side parking lots.
- If weather does not cooperate, the parade will take place indoors with students only.
3:15 PM, Classroom Parties
- PTO will communicate with those coming in to facilitate games.
- Students may bring in a sweet treat for themselves to be enjoyed during regular snack time.
- Due to food sensitivities, no additional snacks will be distributed.
Costume Guidance
Please avoid the following:
- Full costume face masks. We must see student and adult faces.
- Extra accessories that may become distractions during the school day.
- Face painting, as that is tough for a student to wear all day.
- Anything scary or gruesome. That includes cartoon characters that send a negative or violent message.
- Play weapons or sharp objects.
Costumes should be easy enough for a student to manipulate independently and allow them to sit at student desks for learning activities.
Lunch With Your Timberwolf
We are happy to welcome families in to join their Timberwolves for lunch! Due to the size of our cafeteria, we do need to limit the number of guests each day. Lunch visits start after Labor Day, and some days are not listed due to special events.
Guidelines:
- Prior sign-up is required.
- Each slot covers two guests.
- Upon arrival, office staff will check for your sign-up.
- If you did not sign up online for that day, plan to reschedule for a different day.
- Lunch will take place in the cafeteria, as we don't have other available spaces.
- You may bring lunch in for your student, but may NOT share food with other students, even if you have prior approval from a parent.
- If you'd like to purchase a school lunch, contact our front office by 9:15 AM to order.
- Payment is not accepted on site, so be sure to have enough $$ on your child's meal account to cover.
