MPS EdTech End of Year Updates & Reminders
Mystery Phrase
🎓 Caps off to another incredible school year! As we wrap up the semester and celebrate all the milestones, we’ve hidden a graduation-themed mystery phrase somewhere in this newsletter. 🧑🎓✨
Your mission: stroll through the updates, announcements, and reminders to piece it together. This time, it's not just the first 15 lucky enough to be on plan or have a moment to read through that have a chance at an edtech prize, everyone that submits the mystery phrase before Monday morning to this Microsoft Form will have a chance at some EdTech prizes!
Hint: Don’t skip to the finish line too quickly… every section could hold an important clue. 👀
Phishing Awareness
With the recent Canvas data breach, it is very important for you to be aware of a possible increase in phishing attempts in your email inbox. On Monday, May 11th our MPS Systems Admin, Mr. Robert Coggins, sent out an email with a training link to help you recognize the various types of phishing emails you may receive. Please take a few minutes to review his training using the link below.

Elementary Teacher Desktop Computer Replacement
How you Need to Prepare
During the summer of 2026, many of our elementary schools will be getting new teacher desktop computers. Your school may be one of them, so you will need to take the following steps to prepare before you leave for the summer.
- Remove any USB or bluetooth devices that might be connected to your teacher desktop computer.
- Move any files you have saved to the computer over to your MPS One Drive.
- Leave your teacher desk clear of any breakable or delicate items. The Technology department is hoping to work through each school quickly and successfully, and having a clear space to switch out each device will help them work more efficiently.
Canvas End-of-Year Rollover
Important Note: No matter what you do, or don’t do, your Canvas course will not be deleted. You will always have access to it if you need to copy content from it.
What happens to Canvas courses when the school year ends?
On May 27th, your Canvas course(s) will end. This means that it is frozen and you can no longer add, remove, or revise the content in it. May 21st is the last day students will have access to your course.
What if I want to work on my course over the summer?
Here’s a screencast video showing how you can make a copy of your course that you can revise throughout the summer: https://www.loom.com/share/b501ea01cbde480d964c3452df2069eb
I want to make some major changes to my course; I'd prefer to start from scratch.
Click the “Start a New Course” button located on the right side of your Canvas dashboard. Give the course a very specific name so you don’t get confused about what it is and begin rebuilding your course. If there are some specific parts of your current course that you want to reuse, watch the short video below that demos how to copy only selected content.
CLICK HERE TO SEE HOW TO COPY SELECTED CONTENT FROM MY CURRENT COURSE
What if I don’t need to work on my course over the summer?
You don’t have to do anything. You can wait until you get your new course next year, and then copy the content from your current course directly into it, or you can start from scratch if you want to.
What will happen to courses I created myself for a club, organization, or project?
Courses you create don’t expire—you can revise them anytime. To control student access, use the “start” and “end” dates on the Settings page. Manage enrollment manually through the “People” section by adding or removing students. When you're finished with a course, go to Settings to either “Conclude” it (making it read-only for you and your students) or “Delete” it to remove it entirely.
What happens when the 26/27 school year begins?
You will simply copy your course(either this year’s course as it is or the version you revised over the summer) into your new course sections so you can use everything you created this year with your new students. We’ll walk you through this process at the beginning of next year.
Oklahoma Tech Laws - Updates & Implications
What’s Changing, What’s Coming, and Why MPS Is Already Prepared
As conversations around Artificial Intelligence (AI) and student screen time continue to grow across Oklahoma, we wanted to provide a brief update on where things currently stand and reassure staff that MPS has already been proactive in both areas. Long before proposed legislation reached the Capitol, our district had already begun developing guidance, evaluating instructional best practices, and planning for thoughtful implementation and support.
This year, more than 90 MPS teachers and administrators participated in our AI Steering Committee, helping develop updated staff guidance, vet official AI platforms for staff and students, and draft district-specific AI policy recommendations pending the final requirements of SB 1734. Likewise, our district has consistently emphasized intentional technology integration in the classroom. As highlighted in the screen time guidance shared this fall, we continue encouraging staff to minimize passive screen time and instead prioritize short, purposeful, and engaging uses of technology that support learning outcomes - or, as we’ve said before, “put down the devices unless the tech integration is meaningful.”
At this time, the proposed AI legislation has passed through the Oklahoma Legislature and is awaiting final action from the Governor, while other measures - including screen time legislation - are still moving through the legislative process. Our EdTech and district leadership teams are actively monitoring developments and preparing resources, guidance, and support for schools and staff. Once final decisions, requirements, and timelines are confirmed, we will provide additional information and implementation expectations heading into the 2026–27 school year.
ParentSquare End-of-Year and Summer Timeline
As we transition into summer and begin preparing for the 2026–27 school year, ParentSquare will go through several scheduled updates related to classes, grade level rollovers, and group archiving. The timeline and FAQ below outline important dates, what to expect during the summer transition, and answers to common questions about archived content, group communication, and summer messaging access.
Important Reminders
- May 23: Synced classes will deactivate/disappear 7 days after the last day of school.
- June 1: Student grade levels will roll over to the 2026-27 school year.
- June 13: Deadline to request a group bypass from the June 15 refresh/archive process.
- June 15: Groups will refresh so staff can begin next year with a clean communication slate.
High school principals will also continue to have ParentSquare messaging access to graduated seniors and associated parents throughout the summer for important communication regarding transcripts, diploma pickup, and other graduation-related updates - because even after commencement, “The future is bright.”

First 30 Days of EdTech PD Opportunities
Tools, Training, and Tech Tips for a Smooth School Year Launch 🚀
Next school year may officially start in August, but EdTech PD season launches immediately after MPS Kickstart! From July 31 through September 11, the EdTech Team will be rolling out a full lineup of professional learning opportunities to help you start the 2026–27 school year with confidence (and maybe even a few new tech tricks up your sleeve).
Each CTS will host multiple in-person sessions focused on the tools you’ll use most during the school year, including Canvas (Beginner & Advanced), Blocksi, ParentSquare, and ClassLink + Student Data Privacy. Whether you’re brand new to a platform, need a refresher, or want to level up your workflow, there will be sessions designed for every comfort level.
Can’t make an in-person session? No worries. The district EdTech Team will also provide virtual learning opportunities throughout the First 30 Days so staff can connect, learn, and get support from anywhere.
Be sure to check out our live First 30 Days of EdTech PD Calendar with tentative dates, times, and locations. You can start planning around your back-to-school schedule now, or simply bookmark the link and check back in August as sessions continue to be updated and finalized throughout the summer.
Any teacher can attend any session - you don’t have to attend only sessions in your feeder or with your CTS. We know you love them, but the rest of the team is pretty cool, too. 😎
Visibility of Rosters/Classes over the Summer
STUDENT AND GUARDIANS WILL SEE SOME DATA IN VARIOUS PRODUCTS
- Roster data will release to our digital products at the beginning of July to ensure data is syncing successfully. There will be intermittent access to several products where students/guardians will be able to see their rosters/classes.
- Messaging will go out next month informing guardians/students that schedule data will be visible in July in some platforms while we test the syncs and connections, but schedule/roster data will not be correct/accurate until AUGUST 12TH, and schedule change requests will NOT be accepted until that date.
SSO CHANGE - Moving from Clever over to ClassLink!
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
MPS will migrate our digital products from the Clever portal over to the ClassLink portal over the summer. When we return for the 26-27 school year students and teachers will login to ClassLink to access their digital products. Their platforms are fairly similar, so we are hoping it will be a smooth transition for all.
- Login access points are available in the MPS Favorites folder in the Chrome and Edge browsers.
- Login access points are also available on the STAFF and STUDENTS pages on our MPS website.
- You can also save it to your own Bookmarks/Favorites bar: Moore ClassLink Login - https://launchpad.classlink.com/moore.
FEATURES:
- PK-2nd grade students will be able to use QR code badges called QUICK CARDS to login. Here's an article explaining how a teacher can PRINT OUT QUICK CARDS for their class.
- Junior high and high school teachers will be able to reset passwords for their students who cannot login. Here's an article explaining how to RESET STUDENT PASSWORDS.
To learn more about the ClassLink Launchpad, we have several learning options available to you.
TRAINING OPTIONS
- Asynchronous - On your own Individual Learning through the ClassLink Academy (on your ClassLink Launchpad) - focus on the "LaunchPad for Instructors" course
- On-Demand Previously Recorded Webinars - ClassLink for Instructors: LaunchPad Training.

IMPORTANT DATES!!!
As we move products over form Clever to ClassLInk, there will be disruptions to access on both platforms. Please review the timeline below to see an approximation of when access will be lost and re-established.
- JUNE 1ST - DISCONNECT CLASSLINK - Staff and students will lose access to products currently in ClassLink (ex: SORA, Knowt, EBSCO, 1EdTech, etc.)
- JULY 1ST - DISCONNECT CLEVER - Staff and students will lose access to most products in Clever (ex: Waterford, Canva, MyON, etc.)
- THROUGHOUT JULY - NO ACCESS / LIMITED ACCESS - Staff and students will lose access to most products in both Clever and ClassLink. There may be intermittent access periodically, but it will be random and inconsistent.
- AUGUST 10TH - ACCESS OPEN IN CLASSLINK- Staff and students will be able to access all products in ClassLink, but rosters/classes are not officially accurate until Aug 12th.
ClassLink App Library - Limited Access to Free Apps
Many of you have experience using Clever’s Teacher Library, where you can add free apps to your classes without submitting a Program Approval Incident IQ ticket.
As we transition to ClassLink, you will NOT have immediate access to Classlink's Global App Library at the first of the year. This change is intentional to ensure that all apps available to you meet district expectations for curriculum alignment and ADA/WCAG 2.1 accessibility compliance. Instead, you will have delayed access to a custom library of free apps that have been carefully vetted and approved for instructional use.
When school begins, you will have access to your main district curriculum products, but the library of supplemental apps will not be available right away. We will update you when it opens and let you know as new apps are added and how to request apps.
