Words From The Northeast CTA Administration
Northeast Families,
As I begin my first month as principal of Northeast CTA, I want to simply say "thank you". I am incredibly honored to lead a school that means so much to me, and I am grateful to Superintendent Ebert, our district leadership, and our previous School Organizational Team for trusting me with this opportunity. I do not take that trust lightly, and I am committed to giving Northeast my best each day. Thank you to our students, families, and staff for the warm welcome and continued support.
October is an exciting month at Northeast! We hope to see everyone showing their Eagle pride during Homecoming Spirit Week, and we appreciate everyone who has already supported our schoolwide CTE fundraiser. Your support helps provide opportunities and resources that strengthen our students’ career experiences.
On October 2, we will also welcome educators to campus for Modern Classroom Project Demonstration Day. It is exciting to share the innovative work happening at Northeast and showcase what makes our school unique to educators across the country!
Most importantly, I want our students to know that we believe in you. High school is about more than completing courses, it is about discovering what you are capable of, building skills for your future, finding your voice, and taking ownership of your journey. Keep showing up, keep challenging yourself, and keep looking for opportunities to Fly Above.
Thank you for being part of our Northeast CTA family. I am excited about where we are going, and even more excited that we are going there together.
Have an excellent month!
Nicole Delgado

We appreciate your support in scheduling vacations outside of instructional days and exam windows whenever possible, as extended absences during these times can negatively impact academic progress. Thank you for partnering with us to ensure students are present and prepared throughout the school year.
NORTHEAST CTA STUDENT SUCCESS PROFILE
We are excited to get to know more about your student and how they learn best! Please fill out the form below to give us some extra insight into who they are as a learner.
NORTHEAST UPDATES & REMINDERS
Early Check-Out Reminder
For student safety and to ensure a smooth end-of-day dismissal, early check-out requests must be submitted no later than 2:25 p.m. We appreciate your help in planning ahead and allowing adequate time for our staff to process check-outs before the end of the school day.
Schoolwide CTE Fundraiser
As part of the Career & Technical Education (CTE) standards, students are expected to participate in community service projects. One way our CTE teachers provide students with an opportunity to earn these hours is through our schoolwide fundraiser facilitated by Instaraise.
This fundraiser directly supports our CTE programs by helping provide additional equipment and resources while also helping students with the cost of competing at Career & Technical Student Organization (CTSO) National Competitions (which average $2,000/student).
Last year, your support helped Northeast CTA sponsor 13 students to attend national competitions. Three of those students made school history by bringing home Northeast CTA’s first-ever national gold medal. These opportunities allow our students to showcase their skills, compete at the highest level, and represent themselves and Northeast CTA on a national stage.
Participation is quick and easy because this text-based fundraiser requires very little effort from students. Each student will have their own fundraising page, allowing teachers to track participation and confirmation. Students are expected to enter 25 contacts and will likely need parental assistance. The fundraising company and Northeast CTA do not collect or use participant or contact information beyond this event and our school location.
Every donation, large or small, makes a meaningful difference. Your support helps us continue providing students with opportunities that extend beyond the classroom and prepare them for college, careers, and life.
Every student should participate, both to meet their community service expectations and to help strengthen their CTE program and opportunities.
If you prefer that your student not participate, please contact their CTE teacher directly so an alternate community service opportunity may be assigned.
Thank you for supporting Northeast CTA students and programs!
We hope you’ll join us for our fair on October 13, 2026! Please register for a barcode before the event at www.StriveFair.com. All grade levels are encouraged to attend!
During the fair, representatives will scan your barcode to connect with you further. The day after the fair, you will receive a report with information on the institutions with which you scanned.
In an effort to streamline your students' experience at the event, we'll be incorporating StriveScan barcode scanning. Here's a quick look at how it works.
Rather than filling out paper cards at each table, please encourage your student to register for a barcode at StriveFair.com. During the event, if your student wants to connect with an organization, the representative will scan their barcode. The following day, students will receive a report with information on the organizations with which they scanned.
StriveScan does not sell or share student data with third parties - your students are in complete control of how they share their information. You can learn more on StriveScan's data privacy and security page .

Grading - How Can I See My Student's Updated Grades?
We’re glad you asked!
Because Northeast CTA follows a unique 9-month calendar, grades show differently in Infinite Campus. To see your student’s most up-to-date progress:
Change your view to “All Terms.”
Quarter 1 will show the original progress grade, which will update to the official quarter grade on October 10.
Until then, you can view current (in-progress) grades by viewing Quarters 2–4.
Below is are examples of how it will look in your parent portal when "All Terms" is selected.
Note: You may have to scroll down to view Q2 percentages, but assignments will still be listed in Q1.
Do You (or Does Your Student) Need More Time To Complete Quarter 1 Assignments?
While the expectation is all students complete their assignments by the due dates assigned, we recognize that, at times, some need more time. If this is the case, all students needing an extension on their work past the October 9 deadline for Quarter 1 must complete the "Extension Request Form" listed on their teacher's Canvas page. Below is what that button looks like and it links to each individual teacher through their Canvas page. The deadline to request an extension for Quarter 1 is October 9, 2026.
Food Deliveries
For the safety and smooth operation of our campus, our school is not able to accept food deliveries from parents or outside services such as Uber Eats, DoorDash, Grubhub, or similar entities. We simply do not have the capacity to manage these drop-offs during the school day. Please ensure your student brings lunch with them in the morning or takes advantage of our school meal options. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us keep our campus secure and running efficiently.
Food Sales on Campus
To ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all students, the sale or purchase of food and beverages between students is not permitted on campus unless it is part of a school-approved activity. In accordance with Clark County School District Regulation 5157 (Student Wellness), all foods and beverages sold to students during the school day must meet District nutrition standards and be approved through the school. Additionally, the District requires commercially prepared foods for approved special occasions to help minimize the risk of foodborne illness and allergen exposure.
Unauthorized food sales cannot be monitored for food safety, ingredient labeling, allergen awareness, or proper handling and storage, creating unnecessary health and safety risks. Students who participate in the unauthorized sale or distribution of food or beverages on campus are subject to school disciplinary action in accordance with the Clark County School District Student Code of Conduct.
We appreciate your partnership in reminding students that food sales on campus are prohibited unless they are school-sponsored and approved in accordance with District regulations.
Community Partners Wanted!
We are seeking community partners who are interested in collaborating with our school and providing meaningful opportunities, experiences, and resources for our students. Contact Ms. Iacona for more information.
ATTENDANCE
Keep Your Student on Track in High School: Pay Attention to Attendance
Did You Know?
- Students should miss no more than 9 days of school each year to stay engaged, successful and on track to graduation.
- Missing 10%, or 2 days a month, over the course of the school year, can affect a student's academic success.
- At this time of year, if your student has missed three (3) or more days, s/he is considered chronically absent.
- Missing 10%, or 2 days a month, over the course of the school year, can affect a student's academic success.
What Can You Do?
Make school attendance a priority:
- Talk about the importance of showing up to school every day.
- Help your student maintain daily routines, such as finishing homework and getting a good night's sleep.
- Try not to schedule dental and non-urgent medical appointments during the school day.
- Check on your student's attendance to be sure absences are not adding up.
- Seek help from school staff, other parents or community agencies if you need support.
- Submit all medical notes to ensure absences do not count towards your student's chronic absenteeism.

TRANSPORTATION
WHAT TO DO IF THE BUS IS LATE AND/OR YOU HAVE A CONCERN
Transportation Updates and Concerns
We are aware of transportation delays and concerns affecting some of our families, and we continue to monitor these situations closely. Although Northeast does not determine bus routes or directly manage transportation services, we work diligently with CCSD Transportation leadership to help ensure that our students arrive at school and return home safely and on time.
Late Bus Procedure
If a student’s bus arrives at school after 8:25 a.m., the student must report directly to the main office before going to class. The student will receive a Late Bus Pass to excuse the tardiness caused by the delayed bus.
Reporting Transportation Concerns
Families can report transportation concerns in any of the following ways:
Email: transportation@nv.ccsd.net
Phone: Call the Transportation Call Center at 702-799-8100
When submitting a concern or claim, please include:
Your child’s full name
Student ID number
School name
Bus route number
Specific bus stop location
Parent or guardian’s name
A detailed description of the concern
Providing complete information will help Transportation investigate the issue and respond more quickly.
Families are also welcome to email our office specialist, James Jones, at jonesje6@nv.ccsd.net. Mr. Jones works closely with the administration to communicate and follow up on transportation concerns affecting Northeast students.

Academic Advice
Help your student stay on track by checking in regularly on their academic progress:
- Check Infinite Campus for current grades and missing assignments.
- Review Canvas with your student to see current lessons, assignments, and class resources.
- Encourage your student to communicate with their teachers. If they have a low grade, missing assignment, or need additional support, help them send a brief email to their teacher to ask what they can do to get back on track.
Building these habits early helps students take ownership of their learning and prevents small concerns from becoming bigger ones.
Quarter 1 Reminder: Quarter 1 ends October 9. To be eligible for a two-week extension, students must have submitted at least half of their graded Quarter 1 assignments and earned at least 70% on those assignments. Encourage your student to stay current now so they do not lose this opportunity if it is needed.
ACTIVITIES OFFICE
ATHLETIC INFORMATION
NCAA ELIGIBILITY CENTER
All students who hope to compete in NCAA Division I or Division II sports in college must register with the NCAA Eligibility Center. This process ensures that you meet both the academic and amateurism requirements to qualify.
Here are the key reasons and what is involved:
- Academic Verification: The Eligibility Center reviews your high school coursework (“core courses”), GPA, and transcripts to confirm they meet NCAA standards.
- Timeline: It’s recommended to register early, often at the start of your junior year, so you have time to meet all the requirements and address any issues (e.g., missing core courses).
- Scholarships & Competition: If you want to receive athletic scholarships, or compete for a NCAA Division I or II school in your first year of full-time college enrollment, you must have eligibility cleared in advance.

UPDATE FROM CCSD POLICE SERVICES
Back-to-School Reminders
The start of a new school year is an exciting time for students, families, and our community. As everyone settles back into school routines, we encourage parents to take a few moments to review the rules of the road with their children and young adults. Whether walking, biking, riding an e-device, or driving, every person has an important role in keeping our community safe.
To promote the safety of students and the community, everyone should expect an increased law enforcement presence and are reminded to obey posted speed limits, watch for pedestrians, and remain alert during school arrival and dismissal times.
These efforts are intended to help ensure that every person arrives at school and returns home safely.
If you notice traffic-related concerns in or around school zones, please contact the Clark County School District Police Department (CCSDPD) Traffic Bureau at traffic@nv.ccsd.net. Thank you for doing your part to help make our community a safer place for everyone. We wish all students, staff, and families a safe and successful school year.
