Jayhawk Staff Weekly Update
October 4, 2024
Message from Dr. Samuels
I just want to take a moment to recognize the impact you are making every day. The work you do goes far beyond the classroom walls, and it is clear in the way our students grow and develop. The extra effort you put in, whether it is through creative lesson planning, one-on-one support, or simply showing up for them when they need it most is seen and valued. Thank you for consistently rising to the challenge and helping shape their futures—you are making a lasting difference.
Parent/Teacher Conferences
First Quarter ends Friday, October 11 and Conferences are scheduled for October 15 and 17 from 4:00–8:00 p.m., providing a valuable opportunity to meet with families and discuss how their students are doing in school. However, if a student is struggling, this should not be the first time parents are hearing about it. Maintaining consistent communication with families is essential, allowing us to collaborate in supporting students and helping them succeed.
Data Dive Tuesday
Niki and I will be out of the building on Tuesday as we collaborate with Stephanie, Russ, and Pete to work on student data. Our focus will be on aligning interventions, developing a process to ensure smooth transitions from elementary to junior high, and reviewing the SIT referral process. We will share all information with staff afterwards.

-Vehicles-
-Thank you also for communicating so well regarding vehicles as you need them and also for your patience when you have to be flexible because they are all being used.
-Tardies-
-Now that we are in full swing I have a small handful that have received consequences for exceeding the limit(s) – I will continue to monitor this weekly.
