Flashback to New Teacher Week!

New teachers practice taking the student perspective by working in groups to anticipate the questions that students will have on their first day of school. Teachers then take those questions and create lesson plans to answer the questions and help their students feel safe and confident in the classroom from the very first day of school. Activity from Wong & Wong, The First Days of School: How to be an Effective Teacher.

November Professional Learning Conference

We are excited to have all staff participate in our district-wide Professional Learning conference on Nov 20 and 21 at the Woodburn High School campus. This is a chance for us to grow our collective expertise, and share our knowledge and experiences with peers. For these two days, staff will be able to choose from a variety of sessions to expand their learning and engage with colleagues. Sessions range from topics like health and wellness, to utilizing technology in the classroom, to content specific strategies, to CPR. There is a little bit of something for everyone, and we're so proud to be able to feature so many of our own staff members as presenters. Thank you to everyone who has agreed to present, as well as our planning committee members-- we wouldn't be able to do this without each and every one of you!

Also, a huge shout out to HS staff members who will be sharing their spaces with us over those two days. To learn a little more about the conference, including the keynotes, please check out our webpage, and to see the schedule for the two days, please see below.
