Message from Mr. Imbusch
Dear students, staff, and parents/guardians:
I know I sound like a broken record but that's because I wholeheartedly believe that AI is going to change the career landscape for a large percentage of our students. The following article is well worth reading. It is written as a letter to a rising senior, and it highlights the predicted pros and cons of AI as it pertains to our students as they approach the commencement of their careers. Here is an excerpt:
“AI is real and will massively disrupt the job market right as you’re starting your career. But every industrial revolution has created more jobs than it destroyed. The key is being on the right side of the transition. The old playbook is dead: “pick the ‘safe’ major, follow the predictable path. Instead, focus on three things:
Accomplish hard stuff. What matters is proving (to employers and yourself) that you can commit, struggle through setbacks, and deliver.
Become a master at learning. Your advantage is the ability to learn new things quickly, on your own, over and over again.
Figure out how to deal with people. As routine work gets automated, this skill only becomes more valuable.”

Have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Stephen Imbusch

Note from the Media Center
Mrs. Lamar would like to announce that we have just received two copies of a new book, "Frostlines: A Journey Through Entangled Lives and Landscapes in a Warming Arctic" by author Neil Shea.
What makes this especially noteworthy is that Neil Shea is one of our own—a proud 1993 graduate of our high school!
This nonfiction book explores the human and environmental impacts of climate change in the Arctic. We are delighted to add this work by an esteemed alumnus to our collection.

The Photography Club will also be running its annual Photography Contest. The contest will run from November 25 - December 16th. The theme is "Bug's Eye View" Think of yourself as a bug really small and on the ground. How does a bug see up above? Bug's Eye View is getting your camera low to the ground and creating an image by making the subject appear much larger.
