The Fort Report Learners and Leaders Every Day! October 31, 2025

Can you believe October is already coming to a close?

It’s been a quick, busy, and wonderful month at Fort Daniel! Thank you to all the families who attended conferences and took time to connect with teachers about your child’s progress.

This week we celebrated Red Ribbon Week and today's theme was Book Character Dress-Up. It was such an amazing time for our students and staff!

Thank you for your continued support in making Fort Daniel such a warm, welcoming, and connected school community.

Hello Fort Families!

It's time for the FDES PTA Fun Run Fundraiser! This is the PTA's only fundraiser each year and the money earned by students goes directly to benefitting our school! This year with the funds, we will be continuing our library beautification project and purchasing a state of the art hydroponic grow system to further our STEM department!

We are so excited to get EVERY student registered! Just for registering, your child will earn a prize! Please click the link below or scan the QR code to help our school reach our $15,000 goal! Prizes can be earned each step of the way.

Please spread the word to family and friends and share your child's personal fundraising page on social media. Help us get the word out! Anyone can donate and with your help, we can truly make a big impact on our school this year! Last year, the PTA Fun Run fundraiser raised $17,000! With those funds, our running track was repaved and the students have enjoyed it so much.

The Fun Run will take place on November 14th and families are encouraged to attend and cheer on their child! More info on the Fun Run will be shared soon. Check out the flyer below and register your child today!

Thank you for partnering with us to make Digital Learning Day a positive and productive experience for everyone!

Please note:

  • A $25.00 fee will be charged for any lost or unreturned chargers.

E-SPLOST Voting on November 4th E-SPLOST Voting on November 4th

Big decisions are coming this fall. On November 4th, Gwinnett voters will decide whether to continue the one-cent sales tax that helps build, maintain, and improve our schools. This is called E-SPLOST. Visit our website and stay tuned for more info about how this impacts every student and school in GCPS.

What is E-SPLOST? It’s a one-cent sales tax that has helped fund school buildings, safety upgrades, new buses, and technology for nearly 30 years. GCPS is seeking to continue the E-SPLOST that Gwinnett voters have approved since 1997. You have already helped build 64 new schools and make 101 additions across the county—all thanks to E-SPLOST. Every school has benefited. That’s the power of one penny!

Is E-SPLOST a property tax? No. It is a sales consumption tax. That means everyone who shops in Gwinnett—including visitors —helps fund school improvements. It helps keep property taxes from going up.

Where does the money go if voters approve E-SPLOST again? Renovated schools, new classrooms, updated technology, safer school entrances, new buses, and renovated playgrounds—just to name a few. Every cluster has planned improvements. In addition, E-SPLOST helps keep students safe. From security cameras and updated intercoms to safer buses and school entry and visitor management systems, the one-cent sales tax helps protect our children every day. Your school’s technology, learning materials, and even the desks your child uses are supported by E-SPLOST. When schools grow, E-SPLOST helps them keep up through school renovations and additions.

Visit the GCPS website for more info about how this impacts every student and school in GCPS.
