January 2026

Happy New Year Avon Families!

We hope everyone had a wonderful winter break! We are excited to have all of our students back and to begin the 2nd semester and 3rd quarter soon! We wrap up the 2nd quarter next week on 1/15. Please be sure to check your child's PowerSchool before the end of the quarter.

Starting the second week of January we will be conducting MAP testing in ELA and Math classes. Your child's teacher will reach out to let you know of the testing date(s). Student scores will be sent home when the MAP window closes. We look forward to seeing all of the progress our students have made since the Fall MAP. Please make sure that your child is charging their Chromebook each night so that they are able to use the device all day at school. Students use their device for MAP testing.

January will be a busy month as we begin the 3rd quarter of school. There is a teacher in-service day on Friday, January 16th - No School for students and Martin Luther King Jr. Day is Monday, January 19th - No School.

A friendly reminder that school fees are due. All fees must be paid in order for students to attend field trips (this includes Winter Sports Club). Thank you!

Sincerely,

Kelli Davisson, Emily Russ, Brendan Zepp

  • As we return from break and head into cold and flu season, a few friendly reminders:

    • Keep children home 24 hours fever-free without medication and 24 hours after vomiting/diarrhea.

    • If your child is unusually tired, has a persistent cough, or can’t participate fully, it’s best to rest at home.

    • Encourage hand washing, covering coughs/sneezes, and avoiding sharing drinks/snacks.

    • Asthma or inhaler needs? Send medication and forms to Nurse Brittney at nursebrittney@avoneagles.org

    • Cough drops are considered medication and also need a doctor’s form on file.

Thanks for helping keep our school community healthy!
