Sponge Bob Recap
The La Pine High Performing Arts program put on The Sponge Bob Musical April 23rd-25th to rave reviews! With 30 students involved onstage and backstage, it was an entirely student lead production from set design, lights, choreography, and more. Over 600 community members came out to see the show and enjoyed their day in Bikini Bottom. In addition, over 1,000 local elementary and middle school students got to come see the first Act of the show on stage. It was a story about community, coming together, and belonging, and had audiences laughing and everyone saying it was the Best Day Ever!
All seniors were expected at our April 22nd Senior Meeting. At that meeting, all in attendance were given details about the last week of school, senior check-out, graduation practice and graduation ceremony. We have one more required senior meeting on May 20th at 10:25am in the library. Our graduation handbook is linked here:

NJROTC Gets Award!
HUGE Congratulations to the La Pine High NJROTC Unit for their recent awards. The unit was recognized by the Navy's Area 23 manager for Unit Achievement, and he has nominated them for Most Improved Unit in the Nation! Special thanks to Senior Chief Crumrine, Master Chief O'Brien, our student cadet leaders, and amazing adult volunteers for bringing this unit so far so fast.
iPad Roll In
Next month (June) , we are "rolling in" all iPads for the Summer. Please make sure your student knows where their iPad, charging brick and cord are located!
*Seniors will be turning everything in during their "check-out" day the week of graduation.
If anything is not turned in, they will be expected to pay the fine before graduation day.
*Juniors planning on accessing college readiness programs over the Summer will need to speak with Mrs. Garcia the Media Tech to make arrangements to keep their iPad.
*Freshmen and Sophomores are required to turn in their devices and all accessories during the last week of school or be charged fines for anything not returned.
If any student will be accessing an online class over the Summer, they will need to make arrangements with their school counselor and Mrs. Garcia will then be notified of that change. We hope to eliminate loss and damages that often happen over the Summer.
Thank you for your cooperation with this process!
Parent Square
Bend-La Pine Schools is switching to this all-in-one communication platform to keep families better informed and engaged with their schools. Your ParentSquare account will be your primary place to find news, updates, upcoming events, volunteer signups, and other information relevant to your student. It's a safe and reliable hub for everything being shared by La Pine High and our school district.
Activating your account takes only a minute. ParentSquare will ask you to verify your contact information and your students.
You also will be able to manage your account settings, including language and notifications. You can choose to receive notifications instantly or in a daily digest. Emergency notifications will always go out immediately. These include school closures, weather events, lockdowns or other time-sensitive safety updates.
After you activate your account, we highly recommend you download the ParentSquare mobile app for the best experience. This is the preferred choice for parents who want to easily track school messages and alerts on their phone. The ParentSquare app is free for both iOS and Android devices.
Learn more about activating your ParentSquare account, and watch a short video on using ParentSquare, here on our website.
Thank you for joining!

Attendance and Students Checking Out of School
Students learn best when they have a habit and routine of being at school. Every student's goal should be to have a minimum of 90% attendance.
Checking Out - When a student needs to leave early, they MUST check out at the Attendance Office BEFORE LEAVING. Our staff will confirm with a parent that the student should be leaving. We do this for SAFETY and ACCOUNTABILITY, it is our responsibility to know where our students are or if they have left school in case of an emergency situation.
Students who do not follow this process will not be eligible to participate in ANY school-sponsored activity, including practices, games or performances on the day they left without checking out, EVEN IF a parent or guardian clears the absence later (within 48 hrs per school policy).
