Volunteers’ activities:
During 8 months, the volunteers will work together in the multi-ethnic play room “Alveare” – that accommodates 25 Italian and foreign children from 4 to 6 years old- and in the Intercultural Centre “Incontri” -that involves several activities with Italian and foreign young people and women. In addition, they will enforce the new volunteer blog, called “Mondoaltro”, of the Mondoaltro Foundation that is the operative instrument of the Diocesan Caritas of Agrigento.
During the project the volunteers know all the Fondazione activities according to their needs and interests.
When?
The new project will start on the 1st October 2015 and it will finish on 30th June 2016. It keeps 8 months.
Where?
The city in which takes place the project is Agrigento. And the hosting organization is Mondoaltro Foundation.
Who are we?
Mondoaltro Foundation is the operative instrument of Diocesan Caritas of Agrigento, the charity office of the Catholic Church in Italy. It was founded in 2011 and it is formed by six areas: worldwide and emergency, families and poverty, disabled people, volunteering, migration, restarting (special aids for detained, families and unemployed and social housing).
Cost covered by project
The cost of room and Food ‘s allowance - 170 euros - is completily covered by the hosting organization. In addition to this, every month the volunteer will receive a pocket money (115 euros) for the additional personal buy. The cost of trip (round- trip ticket) is covered for a maximum of 275 euros. Moreover, there is a special assurance of the AXA Company for each volunteer.
Accomodation
Volunteer will stay in a special flat that is situated in the building of the “Granata”. The Granata is the place in which there are the offices of “Fondazione Mondoaltro”, the Intercultural Centre, the multiethinic play room for kids. Your flat is downstrairs and three rooms compose it with a bathroom for each of it, a big kitchen and an utility room. There is also a free wi-fi. No employees will have access to volunteers flat (only in case of emergency). The address of the flat is Street Orfane, 16 – close to the city centre. The places of work are in the same building of your flat.
