As we wrap up November and step into December, we’re reminded of just how thankful we are for each and every one of you. Whether you are a student, participant, parent, employee, client, community partner, board member, or colleague—you are a valued part of our NRESC family.

Thank you for the trust you place in us and for giving us the privilege of serving and supporting you every day.

Mark your calendars for a "December to Remember," sponsored by the NRESC Education Foundation!

• December 2-6: Double Good Popcorn Fundraiser
• December 3: Dine-In/Takeout Night at Smash'n Pizza in Totowa
• December 10: Holiday Parade at Second Home with food vendors.
• December 17: Dine-In/Takeout Night at Chick-fil-A in Wayne.

As a reminder, all proceeds from these events will go to support current and future NRESC programs!

Staff and students at NRESC programs saw a lot of Pearl this month and she got to visit with friends at the CTC Academy!

The NRESC looks forward to Pearl visiting every Passaic County district and charter soon. If you’re interested in a free first visit from Pearl or would like more information about our therapy dog services, please contact Ayanna Thorne at athorne@nresc.org .

Congrats to Tracy Tobiassen, NRESC Teacher of the Year! Tracy is an amazing special education teacher at the Phoenix Center. Congrats to Tracy for this well-deserved honor!

• December 22-January 2: NRESC central office, the Phoenix Center, and Second Home are CLOSED (Holiday Break).
• January 5: NRESC's central office, schools, & programs REOPEN.
• January 19: NRESC central office, the Phoenix Center, and Second Home are CLOSED (Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day).
• January 30: Early Dismissal for STUDENTS at the Phoenix Center and Second Home (Staff Professional Development in the Afternoon).

ERC Charities is a group that supports Second Home several times per year. Second Home participants are recipients of funds from their spring golf outing and also their winter benefit gala. Each year, one of our clients receives this scholarship (which is named after one of our clients as well).
