Good Afternoon Jaguars,
We are ready for a full week of learning with our students! I'm excited to get back into a routine that eases my mind, supports productivity, and the chance to take actions that support growth and success! Let's make it an amazing week. We will. We CAN. ONE team. Go Jaguars!

- Opportunities for students to practice strategies and skills modeled during explicit instruction with teacher guidance, collaboratively, and individually.

Attendance Matters
Let's push daily attendance of 95% or better!
- Ms. William's sends her parents a celebration when her class hits 100% perfect attendance for the day! Check out the visual for how she is communicating and celebrating with families as well.
Our goal is to have 95% or better average daily attendance! Last week's average daily attendance was 93.74% which is a slight decrease from the week before 93.77%. Let's keep it improving.
Let's keep reaching for at LEAST 95% this week!
Mrs. Massey's class had the highest attendance rate for the month of December with 99% attendance. We now have a special Clifton Park Attendance Award that stays with your classroom for a month!
Whose class will be celebrated next month?
Pawsitive Jaguars School-Wide Incentives
Remember, you can give a Positive Shout Out form to any counselor or administrator for a student or staff. We would love to give them a personal shout out in our office or even call home if there is something to be exceptionally proud of.
National School Counselor Dress Up-Staff may wear JEANS with dress up days.
Empowering Students
As we continue to work hard to ensure our students are giving their best, let's provide opportunities for leadership. Empowering students to make connections and lead each other will amplify positive, safe environments. Below are some ways we can empower our students:
1. Classroom Ambassadors or Greeters
2. Use non-verbal signals to check each other with the social contract
3. Good Things Leaders
4. Student Launchers at the end of the day-Lead a class chant or read a quote
5. Students may volunteer to lead morning announcements with Dr. Haider (just send them to the office at 7:25)
6. Social Contract Affirmers
7. Social Contract Raters

Capturing Kids Hearts
Kindness is the character trait for the month of February!
Kindness is the ability and willingness to express care and compassion for others. Kindness is a choice to use our time, talent, and resources to better the lives of others and the world through genuine acts of love, compassion, generosity, and service.
Kindness in Action:
- Celebrate small things. Start each day with Good Things as a class. Publicly and privately affirm kind and thoughtful actions and attitudes.
- Once a week, dedicate time for students to write notes of affirmation to classmates and school staff members.
CKH Challenge: Empower students to be greeters and social contract affirmers! Let' celebrate the good behaviors which positively contribute to our classroom cultures.
Best Practice to increase Student Engagement-Student Discourse
Ms. Dusek' Students Discuss their Thinking in Groups
Ms. Dusek's class was given wait time to respond to how to revise a paragraph first. Then students confident in their answer shared thinking as a group. Other students that were not confident talked in a group with Ms. Dusek facilitating and prompting students to determine their answer.
Adams Class-Math Talk Discourse
Ms. Adams class used math talk stems during collaborative work to share their thinking and respectfully disagree.
Ms. Padilla's Class Turn and Talk during SEL Lessons
Ms. Padilla's students turn knee to knee and eye to eye to talk about ways to talk with respectful words.
Staff Shout Outs
Share great instructional or other practices that reinforce our Jaguar Culture (We are there for each other!) you see across campus with Dr. Haider to shout out staff members!
-
Shout out to Coach Haws for bravely directing parents to not turn left in the front parking lot at drop off!
Shout out to Ms. Smith for always supporting the Castle 3 room when help is needed!
Shout out to the Sunshine committee for lifting us up with some healthy snacks on Friday!
