Note from Principal Suzanne Gruendling Note from Principal Suzanne Gruendling

2026-2027

Dear FHTMS Families,

We hope you are all enjoying these last weeks of summer! All team placement letters have been sent, with supply lists. If you need help updating or verifying that your email address is connected to PowerSchool, please contact our registrar, Liz Halgas, at ehalgas@sbschools.net.

STUDENT SCHEDULES:

Student schedules will be distributed at our Open Building event on Monday, August 24, from 3:00–6:00 p.m. Please note that schedules that may be visible in PowerSchool, Schoology, or other connected platforms may not reflect students’ actual classes. Many of these are placeholder courses as we continue loading and finalizing PowerSchool.

Schedules will remain in draft form during the first few weeks of school as we make adjustments to best meet student needs. To ensure everyone has an up-to-date copy, all students will receive a new printed schedule on the first day of school.

IF YOU DID NOT RECEIVE YOUR PLACEMENT LETTER:

If you did not receive a team placement letter by email, and your child can not wait until Monday (which I completely understand), please email me at sgruendling@sbschools.net, and I will look up their team and Liz can follow up with you next week.

CONTACTING TEACHERS AND STAFF:

If you have reached out to any staff members this summer, you likely received and auto response that they are away, we do not have any full time staff in the summer. Staff will arrive back on Thursday August 20th and they do have several full days of professional learning so it may be a few days to catch up on emails. Feel free to send them another note this week if you have a timely question that you want to be sure they see.

Enjoy the remainder of summer, and we look forward to seeing everyone soon!

Your Principal,
Suzanne Gruendling

Open Building Monday August 24th 3:00 - 6:00 pm! Open Building Monday August 24th 3:00 - 6:00 pm!

Open Building! We are ready for you on Monday August 24th 3:00 - 6:00 pm!

Open Building is a drop-in opportunity for students and families to visit the school before the first day of classes. Students can walk through the hallways, find their classrooms, practice their locker combinations, locate important spaces, and become familiar with the school layout in a relaxed setting. Families are welcome to attend, ask questions, and help students feel prepared and comfortable for the start of the school year.

This is a drop-in event; families can arrive at any time during the scheduled window. We recommend planning to spend approximately 15–30 minutes exploring the building and helping students feel ready for the first day. Open Building is designed to reduce first-day stress, build confidence, and help students begin the year feeling ready and connected.

What if you are unable to attend Open Building? Not a problem we will have a copy of every student's schedule available for students on the first day of school.
