Welcome to the 2026–2027 School Year!
On behalf of the entire WHS Leadership Team, I’m thrilled to welcome your students into our building on Monday, August 17. Whether they are returning or joining us for the first time, we are excited to have them as part of our community.
At WHS, we are deeply committed to our mission: to ensure every student is Life Ready—prepared for success the day after graduation and beyond. This means championing learning for all students, helping them connect with caring adults, and guiding them as they discover their passions.
We work hard to live our values every day:
Every Rock Valued. Every Rock Connected. Every Rock Ready.
With excitement,
Principal Denniston
New Bell-to-Bell Wireless Device Expectations
In compliance with Indiana state law, Westfield High School is implementing bell-to-bell expectations for personal wireless communication devices during the school day. Students may bring devices to school, but they must be powered off and stored away from the first bell until the final bell, including passing periods and lunch.
We have created a detailed one-page guide outlining what devices are included, daily expectations, and consequences for non-compliance. Please review the ONE PAGER here to help support a smooth transition and ensure we are all working together to create the best learning environment for our Shamrocks.

TalkingPoints-Family Communication
Westfield Washington Schools use a program called TalkingPoints to communicate with families! TalkingPoints allows for seamless multilingual two-way communication between teachers and families. Families can choose to receive messages via SMS text messaging or through the free FAMILIES | TalkingPoints mobile app for Apple or Android.
This platform has enhanced translation capabilities, so families can receive and send messages in their preferred language. Additional tools like speech-to-text, text-to-speech, and closed captioned videos make this program accessible to all of our Westfield families.
The most important thing you can do to ensure you are receiving messages from your child’s teacher is to make sure your contact information for the “Father” and “Mother” fields in PowerSchool is correct. When a teacher sends out a message, TalkingPoints will automatically use those two phone numbers. If you’d like to add additional contacts, please reach out to your child’s teacher.
