Donation opportunity

Parents often ask 'Mrs. Helt, how can I help? If you need something, let us know!' Those statements are always so nice to receive. In an elementary school with kids who are loving learning, there are always needs to help enhance their lessons for them.

Here are a few things we could use on campus. If you are willing and able, we will gladly take the support of the following.

Donations needed

Donations needed

We are so appreciative of family and community members who offer to support our students and teachers at Clyde Erwin Elementary Magnet School.  There are times that we need very random yet meaningful things to help support a classroom or club opportunity.  Below are items that are needed for classroom activities, afterschool club tasks, or general school events.  If you are willing and able, we will take any and all donations listed below.  Simply pass them off to anyone in the car line or send in or drop off in the office with Mrs. Stacie.  Mrs. Helt will be sure to distribute the items to who requested them.   We send our thanks in advance.  Your support is very appreciated!

Soaring Eagles Parent Advisory Council meetings

The Soaring Eagles Parent Advisory Council is an opportunity for parents to come and chat with Mrs. Helt about upcoming events, concerns, ideas, etc to continue to move Clyde Erwin forward. There is typically no set agenda but more of a free flowing conversation about hot topics. Join if you can. Dates will be shared on Dojo as well as in the weekly calendar above.

Fall Fiesta

We are very excited for our Fall Fiesta this Friday from 4:30-6:00. You still have time to pay for your cards ($10 for 2 visits to each game/activity) or tickets ($5 for 10 tickets) through SchoolCashOnline. Mrs. Helt will continue to have cards available in the car line for a quick handoff of $10. Refunds will not be given for lost tickets or cards.

As of right now, all activities are planned to be outside within the gated playground. If the weather changes, we will move inside.

Volunteer opportunities Volunteer opportunities

Duty Free lunch

Duty Free lunch

We would love to spoil our staff with an extra bit of time away to relax during the school day through an occasional opportunity of Duty Free lunch.  The concept is pretty simple - they drop their kids off (they know where to sit and the expecations) and then enjoy some time away.  Volunteers will monitor the students and ensure all is well in the cafe.  Students love to see their parents during the school day and this is just one simple way.  We will have plenty copies of the schedule for tables and times.  If you can only stay for a little bit, that is fine too.  Shift 1 will be from 10:45-11:45 and Shift 2 will be from 11:45-12:55.  Please indicate if you can work Shift 1 or Shift 2 or BOTH for each date you sign up for.  Disclaimer - there will be other staff members helping.  We are not throwing you to the wolves!  Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up. Thank you!

Car rider line arrival processes

For morning arrival, we will utilize one lane as we have this past year. Cars must stop prior to the last cone and only move forward to the marked spots (big orange cones) once the staff arrive at 7:15 to wave you on. Students will unload from the passanger side of the vehicles and move directly towards the building by the cafe. Parents are not to get out of vehicles at any point.

If you would like to walk them to the building for arrival, you must park in the front of the school and follow the procedures listed below. Parents are not permitted in the building for drop off in the morning from 7:14-7:45.

If you must park to walk to the office during arrival, please pull into the parking spots near the playground fence and walk directly to the office using the breezeway. If you park in the other parking spots, you must walk towards the building nearest the cafe to cross using the crosswalk. This is for arrival and dismissal. We will not delay the car rider process for visitors to campus.

Car rider line dismissal processes

See below for a short presentation with specifics about the car rider process for the afternoon. Mrs. Baker calls for students on the walkie talkie after checking your car rider tag and Mrs. Helt will wave you on to your cone. Students will safely and quickly get to vehicles.

Same parking rules as above for arrival. If you must go to the office during dismissal times, you must either park in the spots nearest the playground fence or park elsewhere and use the crosswalk near the cafeteria. We will not delay the dismissal process for visitors to campus.
