DMS Delivers
September 12, 2025
Welcome to the 2025-2026 School Year
Dear DMS Families,
This week our students truly began to settle into their new schedules and routines. They collaborated with their classmates, explored new learning opportunities, and demonstrated curiosity and excitement in the classroom. It was inspiring to see the balance of hard work and joy as students engaged in meaningful lessons while also building friendships and connections. We capped off the week by coming together as a school community to celebrate our Green and Gold Spirit, showcasing the pride and enthusiasm that makes our school such a special place.
To keep the spirit and enthusiasm going, we are excited to announce our next Spirit Day on Thursday, September 18th! Students are encouraged to wear their Blue and White to show school pride and support our soccer team as they host their first home game of the season. Let’s come together once again to cheer them on and celebrate our school community!
We look forward to seeing everyone on September 18th for our Open House. You can find our Open House schedule below.
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Dr. Cheryl Leandro, Principal cleandro@drregional.org

Medication and Health Office Reminders
If your child will need to take medication during the school day, please ensure the following steps are taken:
✅All required forms are completed
✅A doctor's note is submitted to the school health office.
✅Prescription medications must be provided in their original packaging, clearly labeled with the student’s name, the name of the medication, and the correct dosage.
🚫 Medications cannot be transported to school by students. We kindly ask that parents or guardians contact the school health office to arrange an appropriate time to drop off any necessary medications. You can reach her at dwilkins@drregional.org
We appreciate your partnership in supporting the health and well-being of all students.
⭐Health & Medical Updates⭐
If your child has had a recent physical exam or updated medication orders, please be sure to forward that documentation to the school health office as soon as possible
School Meals
We’re pleased to share that school breakfast and lunch are provided free of charge to all students each day. This ensures every child has access to nutritious meals to support their learning and growth. On early release days, only breakfast will be served, so students should plan accordingly. To help families stay informed, weekly menus can be found in our family newsletter.
While meals are free, milk and water are available for purchase each day for students who would like an additional drink option with their lunch. Additionally, snacks are available for purchase in the cafeteria. Due to food allergies and intolerances, students are not permitted to buy snacks for others.
For snack and drink purchases, families are welcome to send cash or checks. However, we also offer the MySchoolBucks website and app, which many families find convenient. Through MySchoolBucks, you can create an account, reset passwords, check account balances, and deposit funds directly into your child’s meal account.
Snack Prices/Availability may vary:
Cookies and Chips $1.00
Waters $1.25
Ice Cream $1.75
Fruit Snacks $0.50
Pudding Parfaits $1.25
Even though meals are free, we ask all families to complete the Free & Reduced Lunch Application, as these forms directly impact school funding and grant opportunities. The application is linked below.
You can add money to your child's account to purchase snacks and drinks by Clicking Here for the My School Bucks Website.

A Peek Into Our Week...
An Important Announcement regarding DMS Sporting Events
We want to take this opportunity to remind families that DMS students are more than welcome to return to DMS to watch their friends play soccer/baseball/softball. However, they should take their regularly scheduled transportation home and return for the game if they would like to watch.
Games do not begin until 3:15/3:30 p.m., and school staff is not always after school to monitor students between the end of the day and the game. With that, it is important to note that school staff is also not always in attendance at soccer/softball/baseball games, so it is recommended that students come to the game with an adult.
