We did it! The first week of the 2026-2027 school year is officially behind us.

Monday was filled with excitement, energy, and a few first-day jitters. By Friday, many of us are moving a little slower, and that's okay. We all need a moment to breathe, recover, and reset after such a busy and successful week.

As you head into the weekend, remember this: if you're tired, you probably did it right. You leaned in. You asked questions. You explored something new. You showed curiosity and courage. That's exactly how a great school year begins.

Students in Okiyama’s AVID class built relationships and sharpened their memory skills during a fast-paced “Spider Web” activity. As they shared their names and fun facts, classmates worked together to remember each one, creating a web of connections that strengthened teamwork, support, and community. 💙

As the teachers & staff geared up for an amazing first day of school, the Administration treated our incredible Elkins Pointe staff to a pre-planning lunch from Moe's! Because let's be honest... one of the quickest ways to the Elkins Pointe staff's heart is through food! The staff grabbed a plate, enjoyed a meal with each other, and with full bellies and hearts were ready to welcome the Titans back to school!

Ms. Annie Lane, Chorus Teacher, and Mrs. Jennifer Okiyama, AVID Teacher, showed up on the first day of school in the same cute dress and matching big smiles! It seems these educators are not only on the same page, they're on the same fashion lesson plan. Proof that when style and teaching come together, the result is a perfect "A+" in twinning! 👗✨📚

Happy Titans kicked off the school year on Monday, August 3rd, with smiles, excitement, and a warm welcome! Principal Smith, Assistant Principals Mrs. Mercedez Jackson, Mrs. Morgan Tew, and Dr. Peoples, along with AA Mr. Todd Wilson, greeted students as they arrived. With bubbles floating through the air and teachers lining the halls to help guide the way, it was a fantastic first day of school! 🎉📚 #TitanPride #HappyTitans

August 18th PTSA General Meeting - We invite all parents and guardians to join us in the Media Center for our first PTSA General Meeting on Tuesday, August 18, at 9 a.m., after “Coffee with the Admin.” This is a great opportunity to meet our Elkins Pointe administrators; connect with fellow parents and PTSA Board members; hear about school initiatives; and enjoy complimentary coffee and light snacks. Your input is valuable, and we look forward to seeing you there!

In the coming weeks, we will have our school clubs' sign-up information out. We are asking that you look over the list of what we offer and talk about what your child might be interested in. We will be sending out more information soon!

Support Elkins Pointe: Donate at 2nd & Charles! The 2nd & Charles store at 10723 Alpharetta Highway in Roswell will be accepting donations made at checkout from Sunday, July 19, to Sunday, August 16, with all donations going to Elkins Pointe Middle School. Stop by 2nd & Charles and donate at checkout--encourage a lifelong love of books while supporting our school!

Binder Build Volunteers Needed - The AVID program needs volunteers on August 20 during Connections class times. Volunteers will be organizing and handing out materials and assisting in building AVID binders for students. If you are able to help, please sign up here. Thank you!

Beginning on Monday, August 10, 2026:

Arrival:

The staff lot will be blocked off during morning carpool. Students should all be dropped off in the carpool line at the front of the building.

Dismissal:

The Elkins Pointe staff lot and Hembree Springs staff lot will be blocked off during dismissal. All 6th grade families should pick up on the side of the school. 7th and 8th grade families will need to use the carpool lines at the front of the school.

In collaboration with Hembree Springs Elementary, we are working to ensure the safety of our students. Students walking through bus lanes and in and out of car traffic have presented multiple safety concerns. Hembree Springs has also reported parents driving through their parking lots at high speeds. As you know, safety is often inconvenient. However, safety is our number one priority. Adherence to the carpool procedures is required, and we are here for any questions or concerns that you may have.

Elkins Pointe Middle School Soccer Team

EPMS Tennis: Please sign up for tryouts for the EPMS Tennis Team! Please see the link below to complete the interest form for 7th and 8th graders only. After completing the form, upload the FCS Athletics-required documents to RANK ONE. Instructions for required forms are on the website or in Titan Talk. This MUST be completed by Friday, August 28th. Students will not be able to try out without the forms completed on Rank One. Tryouts will be on Wednesday, 9/2, and Thursday, 9/3, from 4:30-5:30 PM. Parents, please pick up your students promptly. No experience needed, all levels are welcome. Practices will be every Tuesday/Thursday until Final Match. Final match is currently scheduled for 11/7 at the South Fulton Tennis Center. Students will need their own transportation to the match.

Spirit Nights: 8/11 at Village Burger and 8/18 at Jeremiah’s Italian Ice! We know the beginning of the school year is super busy, so keep your dinner plans simple! On Tuesday, August 11, Village Burger Alpharetta will host an Elkins Pointe Spirit Night from 4 - 8 p.m. Ten percent of proceeds will go to EPMS! Be sure to mention Elkins Pointe when ordering. And on Tuesday, August 18, join us for a cool, sweet treat at Jeremiah's Italian Ice on East Crossville Road from 4 p.m. to close!
