Principal's Letter
Dear Parents and Families,
As we come to the close of another incredible school year, I want to take a moment to thank you for your continued partnership, support, and trust. This year has been filled with growth, achievement, resilience, and memorable moments for our students and staff.
Our middle school students have worked hard academically while also growing socially and emotionally. From classroom successes and performances to athletic events, field trips, and service opportunities, it has been inspiring to watch our students learn, lead, and mature throughout the year.
I would also like to recognize our dedicated teachers and staff members whose commitment and care help create a positive and supportive learning environment every day.
To our families, thank you for encouraging your children, supporting school activities, and staying involved in their education. A strong school community is built through teamwork, and we are grateful to have such supportive families alongside us.
For our students moving on to high school, we are proud of all you have accomplished and excited for the opportunities ahead. Continue to work hard, be kind, and believe in yourselves.
As summer begins, I encourage everyone to take time to relax, recharge, and enjoy time with family and friends. We look forward to welcoming students back in the fall for another exciting year of learning and growth.
Thank you again for a wonderful school year. Have a safe, happy, and restful summer!
Sincerely,
Jill E. Schissler

Cameron's love of school is contagious. His calm demeanor and collaboration skills make every peer who knows him want to keep learning. When you imagine someone who is a dependable friend and conscientious student, imagine Mya Mccullough. STEM Celebrates Excellence with April Dojo Party!
What do you get when you mix coding, a little music, and great moves?? Why the Dojo Dance Party, of course! 💃🪩
STEM 5 Protects Native Bird Habitats
Last year's STEM learners launched our multi-year Nestbox Trail project. Learners monitor the nestboxes to attract native Eastern Bluebirds, Black-capped Chickadees, Tree Swallows and House Wrens. They must clean out any nest starts made by the invasive House Sparrow to make room for these native species.
STEM 5 Uses Engineering Skills to Help Families in Need
STEM 5 learned that many children in the Greater Cleveland area have no beds of their own, so they're teaming up with the "Beds 4 Kids" program that donate complete bed kits to families in need. STEM 5 learners are designing night stands that store personal belongings and can be easily transported in a car, all while using free wood from pallets. Creativity at its best!

"Shall I compare thee to a summer day?" My students and I are wrapping up our study of Shakespeare, so I thought a summer quote from our favorite writer would be appropriate for our final newsletter. We read/performed the play "Midsummer Night's Dream" in English and it was fabulous to see the students really get involved in their parts. Their incredible portrayals led to some of them earning the spotlight of student of the month.
