A Weekly Update for Acton Elementary Families

Greetings from Acton Elementary!

We cannot believe that a new school year is upon us. The summer has flown by and next Thursday, our staff will return to campus and will start preparing their rooms and their hearts for the upcoming school year! PURE MAGIC. The first words that come to mind when we think about Acton Elementary. From the incredible staff that call AES home to the phenomenal students and families that we are blessed to serve, Acton Elementary is a uniquely special place. Anyone who steps foot inside Acton Elementary knows of the magic that exists here.

We loved our RISE ABOVE theme last year because it allowed us to elevate all that is good and true about our students and staff. Promoting positivity and choosing to be deliberately optimistic lifted us all up in ways that we never anticipated, especially in a year that had some difficult challenges. We firmly believe that our theme for the 2024-25 school year will allow us to build upon this positivity.

We cannot wait to celebrate how incredibly special Acton Elementary is and highlight all of the incredible experiences that our Acton Elementary students and staff are blessed to have! We're so excited about another beautiful year at Acton Elementary!

We've spent the summer highlighting many of our staff members and the incredible contributions that they make to Acton Elementary. We truly do have the best staff on the planet. Their willingness to do whatever it takes to meet the diverse needs of our students is unparalleled. We are incredibly grateful for the work that they do each and every day to serve our students and families. Their steadfast commitment is always worth celebrating.

The partnerships that we foster with our families mean the world to us. We would love for you to be as involved in your student's school life as possible. If you have questions or would like more information about how to become more involved, please don't hesitate to reach out. As we enter a new school year, please know how passionate and dedicated we are to partnering with you to ensure that your student is successful. It takes a village, and we are grateful that you all are a part of ours.

Words cannot describe how eager we are to welcome back all 800+ of our Acton Elementary students! They truly are the reason we are here. We are so proud of the smart, kind, compassionate students that call AES home. Loving, leading and teaching them is an incredible honor for us all and we are SO excited about all that is to come at Acton Elementary during the 2023-24 school year! We cannot wait to celebrate our students as they soar to new heights!

We know that your calendars are full and that coordinating for all of the things and people in your life can be challenging. Like last year, we will do our best to give you information about upcoming events as far in advance as possible, updating the list of upcoming events at the bottom of the Pirate Press each week. Please know that the dates/times of school events are always subject to change. When changes occur, we will always let you know!

Summer Disc Photos

We're working on a special project with all of the summer disc photos that have been shared with us this summer! The deadline to post for them to be included in this project is Friday, August 2nd! This has been such a fun activity - thank you to all that have participated!

Returning Student Skyward Registration

Returning student registration opens online in July 2024. The online registration process is completed in Skyward Family Access must be done using a web browser or desktop computer.

Returning Student Registration

If you are a current Granbury ISD family whose student is already enrolled in a Granbury ISD school and returning this year, Skyward automatically enrolls your child to the next grade level at the appropriate campus, but you must complete the returning student registration in Skyward Family Access. Incoming kindergarten students who attended prekindergarten at Emma Roberson Early Learning Academy are automatically enrolled at the campus for which the student's family is zoned to attend.

There's something magical about picking out new notebooks, crisp pencils, and colorful folders. It's a fresh start and a chance to organize and conquer the year ahead!
