February 2026
Message from the Superintendent
Dear TPS Community Members,
They say February is the shortest month, but looking at our calendar, I’m convinced we’ve packed a full year’s worth of energy into these 28 days!
Between the record-breaking freezing temperatures and the beautiful (if slightly disruptive) snowfalls, our maintenance and transportation teams have been working overtime to keep our students safe and warm. I want to thank you for your patience and flexibility as we’ve navigated the winter weather together. It appears we are not done with the snow quite yet, so I wish you all well as you, too, tackle ice and snow at your own homes.
While it’s cold outside, things have been heating up inside our schools, and there’s nothing like beating the winter doldrums than visiting our schools and our classrooms to engage with our students. They are alive with projects, performances, and inspirational athletic accomplishments on the courts, ice, and floor. Grades 7-12 students have contributed to the vision of our schools for the future of TPS, as they engaged with the town’s architectural consultants. We even honored a 4th grade bonafide author at this month’s School Committee meeting! Highlights of the meeting can be found below.
As a reminder, this Friday, February 13th is an early release day for staff and students. And as we approach our upcoming February school vacation next week, I hope you all take some time to recharge and stay cozy. Whether you’re hitting the slopes or curled up with a good book, enjoy the well-deserved rest.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for a busy spring season!
Warmly,
Brenda Theriault-Regan
