Dear FSD 157-C Community,

As we close the 2025–2026 school year, I would like to recognize and celebrate the many accomplishments of our students and staff. This year has been filled with outstanding achievements across all areas of student life—from academic success and athletic accomplishments to inspiring performances in the arts and participation in extracurricular activities. Our students have demonstrated resilience, creativity, and a strong commitment to growth, and we are incredibly proud of all they have achieved.

These successes are made possible through the collective efforts of our dedicated staff, supportive families, and engaged community. Your partnership continues to make Frankfort School District 157-C a place where all students can thrive.

We were especially proud to celebrate the Class of 2026 at their eighth-grade graduation last night. Their confidence and readiness for the next chapter are a true testament to the lasting impact of our educators.

As you make your plans for the summer break, please note the following key dates for the 2026–2027 school year:

• September 1: Chelsea Curriculum Night

If you have not already, please take the time to register your student for the next school year.

New Student and Kindergarten Registration for the 2026-2027 School Year

New student registration must be done in person, by appointment only. To make an appointment contact the District Registrar, Mrs. Chris Brooks 815-806-4001. Questions regarding the registration process can also be directed to Mrs. Brooks via email at cbrooks@fsd157c.org. Children who will be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2026, are eligible for kindergarten.

Returning Student Registration for the 2026-2027 School Year
The letter with your child's individualized registration code was mailed to homes in April 2026. If you do not receive a letter, please contact Mrs. Brooks via email at cbrooks@fsd157c.org. Current Speech or Project BEGIN Students are considered returning students and will receive registration information for the 2026-2027 school year in the mail.

Frankfort School District 157C is asking families to complete the transportation survey linked below only if one of the following applies to your child:

• Your child needs transportation to or from a daycare location other than home, or

• Your child will not ride the bus for the entirety of the 2026–2027 school year.

Please complete one survey per child by June 10, 2026. Your responses will help the district plan transportation services for the upcoming school year.

Frankfort School District 157-C utilizes a more environmentally friendly and efficient method for sharing information. Flyers, posters, and media from district schools, non-profit organizations, intergovernmental agencies, and approved business partners are available on our "Virtual Backpack" webpage. This approach replaces the traditional practice of sending materials home via students' backpack mail, ensuring easier access and reduced paper waste.
