Kindergarten Celebrates the 100th Day of School!
Kindergarten students celebrated the 100th day of school with fun and creative activities! They dressed up as if they were 100 years old and made festive 100-day necklaces using Froot Loops. Students also engaged in hands-on learning by building with 100 cups, 100 popsicle sticks and clothespins, 100 Legos, and 100 shapes. It was a day full of excitement and learning as they marked this special milestone!
Artist's Gallery
Jr/Sr high school student in Advanced Art created Valentine's tiles for their friends. Showcased below are the talents of featured artists Josue, Edwin, and Alquan.
Spreading Kindness
Random Acts of Kindness Week, established in 1995, serves as a reminder that even the smallest act of kindness can brighten someone's day, week, or even change their life. Celebrated in February alongside Valentine's Day, this special week encourages everyone to be more intentional about spreading kindness.
To promote kindness in our school, we created a Kindness Tree, adding hearts each day to represent the thoughtful acts performed by students and staff. Teachers also incorporated kindness-themed lessons and activities to inspire students.
Here are a few pictures of our Student Council members adding hearts to the tree!

SHHS Seniors Launch Mentoring Program to Support Middle School Students
Four SHHS seniors have partnered with middle school counselor Ms. Sunday to launch a mentoring program for middle school students. Alexa E., Samarah H., Samoyed T., and Savannah W., all participants in the Hamilton Health Center’s Training Program for High School Seniors, saw an opportunity to support younger students by discussing topics such as education and career goals, common challenges in middle and high school, leadership, and self-esteem. Additionally, they are working to establish a care closet to provide essential personal care items for young women in the school. We are incredibly proud of their dedication to community and leadership!

Exploring Black Innovators in STEM
In honor of Black History Month, 9th-grade science students explored the achievements of influential Black scientists and inventors. Through collaborative discussions, they examined the connections between these pioneers' contributions, legacies, challenges, and inspirations in their respective STEM fields. This activity not only highlighted lesser-known scientific minds but also introduced students to various STEM careers and pathways they may not have previously considered.
