Dear Tigers,

I hope this message finds you well after a restful fall break. As we return to school and begin the second nine weeks, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the profound loss we all feel following the passing of Coach Nathan Casillas. His impact on our students and community was immeasurable, and his spirit will forever be a part of our school.

During this difficult time, I encourage each of you to lean on one another for support. Let's continue to foster an environment of compassion and understanding, both for our colleagues and our students. Remember, it's okay to express your feelings and seek help when needed.

As we move forward, let's honor Coach Casillas by embodying the values he stood for—teamwork, perseverance, and excellence. Our students will look to us for guidance, so let’s be a source of strength and encouragement as they navigate their own emotions.

In light of the loss of Coach Casillas, we understand that many of us may be feeling a range of emotions. To support our students and staff during this difficult time, we are inviting therapy dogs to our campus on Monday, October 14th, from 9 AM to 11 AM.These gentle animals can provide comfort and companionship. Our EPHS counselors will also be available all week.

I encourage you to let students know we has resources to help them navigate their emotions

Open Enrollment will take place October 14, 2024 through November 16, 2024, with a benefit effective date of January 1, 2025.

You are encouraged to log in to review your current benefits and beneficiary designations that will cover you through December 31, 2024. When logging into your benefits go to
ffga.benselect.com. Your user id will be your employee id# or your Social Security #. Your pin will be the last four digits of your social security # and the last two digits of your year of birth for a total of six digits. The enrollment site is available through any internet connection, you do not need to log into EPISD to access the enrollment site and Chrome is the preferred browser.

Intersession was a resounding success. A heartfelt thank you to all the teachers who dedicated their time and effort to make it engaging and beneficial for our students.

I would also like to extend special thanks to Gema Del Campo and Bruce De La Paz for their exceptional organization and leadership throughout the process. Your hard work made a significant difference, and we appreciate your commitment to our students and community.

As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance our instructional tools and streamline our administrative processes, I wanted to remind everyone that the district-mandated Rooms app is now in full use. This app is a crucial part of our strategy to improve communication and organization within our classrooms.

This week, administration team will be visiting PLCs to check in and offer any additional support you may need with the Rooms app. Our goal is to ensure that everyone is comfortable with the app and to address any questions or challenges you might be facing.

If you have any specific issues or require assistance before our visit, please feel free to reach out to Bruce or Gema or your AP. We want to make sure you have all the resources you need to make this transition as smooth as possible.

All EPHS employees & students must wear their ID's.

Wearing ID's is not optional.

Start requiring your students wear their ID.

Do Not send them out of class.

ID's must be visible at all times.
