September is also Attendance Awareness Month, and I want to take a moment to highlight the importance of students being in school as often as possible. Every day of learning makes a difference, and consistent attendance sets the foundation for student success both inside and outside the classroom.

We are excited to join in the celebration of High School Homecoming this Friday! This is always a special time of year, and we are proud to show our school spirit alongside the high school. Please remember we will have an early release on Wednesday and Friday to celebrate as a community.

Please take a moment to review the spirit days and Friday pep rally expectations listed below so that our students can fully enjoy this exciting event in a safe and positive way.

Pep Rally Expectations:

• No discipline (ISS or OSS) during Homecoming week
• Students sit with their 7th period teacher
• Students follow behavior expectations

A few reminders for game expectations:

• Students get in free with their badges
• MVMS has a NO BAG policy (small purses or diaper bags are permitted) for all athletic events.
• No outside food or drinks are permitted in games as we provide concessions.
• If students are in ISS or OSS the day of a game they cannot attend the game.
• Behavior at games are essential to success and ability to attend future athletic events.

• Spirit Day: Generation Day (6th: Babies, 7th: Adults, 8th: Seniors)
• Early Release @2:15pm for Homecoming Parade

• Lady Jags Volleyball v. Ruidoso @4:30pm

Friday (9/19)

• Spirit Day: Wear Black and Gold
• Pep Rally
• Early release @2:15pm

Looking forward:

We are excited to begin offering after school tutoring beginning September 30th to our students. It will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays each week from 3:50pm-4:50pm. Below are all that days that after school tutoring will be available for the school year:
