A Message from Our Principal
Dear Farnham Families,
It’s been a wonderful week at Farnham! Our students enjoyed a Bike and Pedestrian Safety Assembly where they learned important tips for staying safe while riding and walking in the community. It was exciting to see their enthusiasm and to know they are building habits that will help keep them safe.
Our youngest Falcons have also had a big week. The TK students have been practicing eating lunch at school, and they are already showing great independence. We are so proud of them! We’re looking forward to welcoming both our TK and Kindergarten students to full-day schedules starting Monday. What an exciting milestone!
As a reminder, during morning drop-off, please wait until you’ve pulled all the way up to our Student Leadership Team before having your child exit the car. Our Leadership Students are eager to lend a hand and help keep drop-off smooth and safe for everyone.
Thank you for your continued partnership in making Farnham such a strong and supportive community!
Be well,
Amy O’Hehir
Farnham Principal

A NOTE FROM YOUR HSC BOARD:
Hello Fabulous Farnham Families! The Home and School Club is kicking off our annual Giving Campaign with a goal of raising $40,000 to help fund all of our activities this year. Everyone should receive the flyer in their Thursday folder, but if you can't find it, you can always get more information here. The money we raise will help support field trips, assemblies, teacher stipends and classroom supplies, specialty programs like Fab Lab, Project Cornerstone and Starting Arts, and more. No donation is too small, and we'd love to see 100% participation. Come join us on Friday morning for some coffee and donuts to learn more.
Want to help us plan the Pumpkin Walk and bring a re-imagined spin to our fall festival? Our next planning meeting is tonight at 6pm on Zoom (https://us06web.zoom.us/j/5180336159?omn=8

THE CITY OF SAN JOSE, BIKE RODEO
September 4th, after school is the SJDoT’s Bike Rodeo program. This is optional and requires parental/guardian presence/supervision. This event will take place from 3:00-4:00 pm on our back playground.
A bike rodeo is a bicycle skills event which provides an opportunity for bicyclists to practice and develop skills that will help them to become better bicyclists and avoid typical crashes.
No permission slip is needed, but we do require that a parent or guardian be present during the time that their child(ren) are participating. Students need to bring their own bike and helmet. If they do not have a helmet, we will have a limited supply on hand to provide for these students.
Please RSVP through this link: https://forms.gle/LA7WywrrWYMfkJyYA. You can also sign up your student on arrival at the bike rodeo. However, the RSVP list gives the program leads an idea of how many students will be participating.
Program Flier: English | Spanish | Vietnamese

TK/Kinder Modified Schedules
Until September 5th, TK will have an early dismissal of 12:30pm and Kinder will have an early dismissal of 11:40am to help them adjust to a full school day. The first full day of class will be on September 8th.
Attendance Is Important
Consistent school attendance is key to success for your child. Ensuring your child is on time and in attendance on the first day of school is very important. If a student is NOT in attendance on the first day of school, they will be dropped from enrollment at the end of the day UNLESS we receive communication from their parent/guardian regarding the reason for their absence. If your child has five unexcused absences during the first week of school, August 14th-20th, your student will be dropped from enrollment at the end of the day on August 20th. If your child is dropped for any reason, you will need to re-enroll your child with the Cambrian School District.
Avoid Tardies
Being on time to school is a great way to start the day (students do not like walking into class late). Please avoid tardies at all costs. Gates open at 8:05 am, and close (and lock) at 8:15 am when the instructional day begins. After 8:15 am, everyone must check in through the school office, and students will walk themselves to class.
Important Information From The Health & Attendance Office
School Absences:
If your child will be absent or tardy, please call the automated 24 hour attendance line before the school day begins. Absences not cleared will be recorded as a truancy. Farnham's 24 hour automated attendance line is 408-377-3321 EXT 4102.
Medical Updates And Medications For 2025-2026 School Year:
Please provide updated medical forms for children with medical concerns and medication requirements for the 2025-2026 school year. The forms are available on the Cambrian District website's Enrollment Page. Please bring the updated and signed form(s), along with the medication, to the Health Office when school begins. A medication authorization form is required for both prescription and over-the-counter medicines. All medication must be in the original container, labeled by the pharmacist, with clear instructions for administration. O-T-C medications must be new in the sealed packaging.
SEPTEMBER MENUS
Complimentary Brunch/Lunch
All morning snack and lunches will be complimentary (no cost) for the entire 2025-26 school year. Even though school meals are free this year, we encourage you to complete the meal application to take advantage of additional benefits for you and your family, while also helping with school funding.
