Each month in the Lebanon Junior High Tribune, students from each team will be recognized as students of the month. Two students (one 7th grader and one 8th grader) who have shown Respect, Excellence, and Purpose and gone above and beyond will be recognized as Cedars of the Month. Their pictures and bios will be proudly hung for the following month in the display cases at school. We look forward to honoring our students and their excellence!

Last week, picture day forms were sent home with your child. We will have picture day at LJH Friday, October 3rd. If you have any questions, please reach out to the office and we will be able to get you any needed information from Barksdale Photography (picture company).h

Please remember to continue sending notes if your child is absent from school. Most importantly, there is a direct link between coming to school and academic success! Many students are doing an outstanding job this school year. If your child is sick and unable to come to school, please do not forget to send in a signed note no more than three days after they return. If they do not have a note by that time, it will be marked unexcused. Mr. Sellers is available to answer any additional questions regarding attendance needs.

At the midpoint of each marking period, Junior High students will qualify as "Green Zone" recipients if they have all A's, B's, and no more than one C in their classes. Those students will receive a ticket (below) they are able to use for a number of rewards at school, such as raffles, being first in the lunch line, getting their cell phone out of the iPad cart first at the end of the day, free homework pass, and more. Check in with them to see if they have earned this reward for Marking Period 1 (Interim was September 25th)!

It is hard to believe we are already halfway through the first marking period! Please ask your child about their LJH Student Goal Sheet, as each student has set their own goals for their grades, behaviors, common testing, and more that they review and update weekly.

As we are already at the midpoint, it is important students are keeping up with their assignments and doing their best at school - they have been doing a great job so far! The last day of Marking Period 1 is October 28th. Please remind them and reinforce there is no Summer School this coming year, so they need to do their best each and every day and set their goals high!

We hope to see you all the evening of Thursday, October 16th! There will be dinner provided and we share a variety of information to help your child and look forward to helping you with anything you need.

Please be reminded of the information related to Safe2Say below. As shared at the beginning of the year, Safe2Say is totally anonymous system in which students, staff, or families can report any concerns regarding student safety, peer issues, drug or alcohol concerns and more. Each time a report is made, we follow up immediately with the concerns to help all involved.
