The Purpose of an ELAC

1. provide parents of English Learners opportunities to learn about:

educational EL programs offered to students including bilingual possibilities
the importance of regular school attendance

2. provide parents of English Learners training on:

ELAC responsibilities included elected members on their roles in the GOHS ELAC
Uniform Complaint Procedures - Williams Act

3. provide parents of English Learners opportunities to

Advise the principal and school staff on the site plan for English learners, including effective actions to improve learning of English Learners
Assist in the development of the school wide needs assessment

Elect at least one member to the District English Learner Advisory committee (DELAC)
Advise the principal and school staff on the use of LCAP Discretionary Spending

*Back to School Night events begin at 5:30 PM with a session for seniors in the Gym and a session for freshmen & students new to the school in the PAC.

Classroom visitations begin at 6:00 and we encourage to to attend.
