What is progress monitoring and why is it important? What is progress monitoring and why is it important?

The purpose of progress monitoring (PM) is to promote timely, consistent, and collaborative conversation between stakeholders and students regarding student academic performance, resulting in a holistic, collaborative plan of student interventions that supports students staying on track in dual credit courses and that builds student agency, with the goal of increased student success.

      GPA & Grades Matter, WHY?!

Keeping your GPA above a 2.0 will keep you enrolled in your Dual Credit college classes. Failure to keep your GPA above a 2.0 may jeopardize the completion of your associate's degree.

What happens if your GPA falls below a 2.0? What if I don't pick up my GPA above a 2.0? See the image attached for more information from Dallas College regarding academic standing.

Try out this GPA calculator to see how getting a D or an F can affect your current GPA!

*You can find your current GPA on your Advising Report and/or see your progress monitor or counselor.

Thank you to the Molina B-TECH Alumni!

We want to give a huge shout-out to the Molina B-TECH alums for returning to their old stepping grounds. They had the opportunity to present current students with a quick timeline of their experiences after graduating from the program, including their impressive achievements, such as participating in the Weaver summer program and making significant contributions to their future selves.

Victoria advised the students to pursue their goals. She provided them with excellent advice for networking and taking advantage of work-based opportunities and gave them insight into her student experience at UT Austin.

So proud of all the things she had conquered. We can't wait to see what the future has in store for her.

We thank Ms. Colleen Mier and the Foundation for C.H.O.I.C.E team for showing up for our students. Our seniors had the opportunity to work with the program last year. The year was full of unique opportunities, job-shadowing experiences, scholarship applications, and many more resources.

We couldn't be happier introducing our junior cohort to this fantastic program. The students and parents were given a brief presentation about the opportunities the program offers to the students. Seventy-two juniors have applied and will be interviewed on Friday, September 6th.

We could not be happier for them! We wish them luck through the process.

      TSIA Matters, WHY?!

TSI is a state-legislated program designed to improve student success in college. Part of the program is an assessment to determine basic skills in reading, mathematics, and writing. Each grade level should be focusing on a different portion of the assessment, with the goal of being TSIA2 met in both Reading/Writing and Math by the end of the 10th-grade year:

      • 9th-grade focus: Reading/Writing
      • 10th-grade focus: Math

A passing score on the TSIA2 test IS REQUIRED in order to take most of the dual-credit courses on our Associate Degree crosswalks. Failure to pass TSIA may jepordize the completion of your associate's degree. Passing the TSIA2 is a graduation requirement!
