An Update from the Principal
Dear MHS Community,
I hope you are well and will have a great new week. There are 13 days left of school until June 20th. In some ways, that is a tremendous amount of time, and in others, honestly, I cannot believe it is even June.
Seniors, this is your last true week of classes, a significant milestone. Your grades close on Friday, the 7th, and next week, we dedicate time to recognize and celebrate your achievements. This culminates on the 14th with Graduation, a special memorial ceremony that marks the end of your high school journey.
For students in grades 9-11, we remind them that we all have jobs to do. Students, we ask and remind them that it is so important to keep up your learning stamina until the 20th. Stay grounded, stay present in class, both physically and mentally, and take a breath.
Ask for help if you need it. We are here to support you and will all give a few final pushes to get us to the end. You got this.
Please reach out if you need assistance.
Sincerely,
Jason

Extended Learning Opportunities
Food, Farm, and Society - Unique Summer Opportunity
Now in its 11th year, this summer program offers students academic credit along with pay for the work associated with food production.
The class will meet for 20 days over the course of 4 weeks. The weeks are spread out to coincide with the work needed and the educational opportunities available as the growing season progresses.
The daily schedule is broken down into roughly 3 hours of experiential education, and 2 hours of work. This will yield one semester of Science credit and 40 hours of work at $14.00/hr.
The class will meet at Montpelier High School where students have access to 2 greenhouses, a chicken coop, an aquaponics system, numerous gardens, 2 beehives, and an earthen pizza oven, in addition to traditional academic resources. There will be field trips to local farms and food processing facilities. The class is led by Tom Sabo, a certified science teacher.
The class is being offered to students at Montpelier High School, U32, Twinfield, Northfield, Spaulding, Randolph Union and Harwood Union. Given the experiential nature of the class, it is limited to 12 students.
Volunteer This Summer!
Looking to give back to the community this summer?
Montpelier Senior Activity Center (MSAC) needs volunteers to help with the FEAST Senior Meals Program, during the summer months. Delivering Meals on Wheels for older adults who are homebound, either weekly or on an occasional basis (11:30 am to 12:30 pm)
Helping with “Grab ‘N Go” meals on Thursdays in July, 4:00 to 6:00 pm
Volunteering on “pie day”: - pass out pies for a fundraiser, 1st Wednesday of month, 4:00 to 6:00 pm
Processing farm fresh produce with a team, often on Fridays
