The Weekly Update August 23rd, 2026

Week 1 was AWESOME - and all because of YOU!!! Week 1 was AWESOME - and all because of YOU!!!

Looks like last week was a success!! Schedules should be finalized. If you have issue-come to the office and see Ms. Carmella. *Remember: only legitimate reasons will be considered (ex: you have 4 core classes in one semester - that is legitimate; you don't have lunch with your best bud - not legitimate) 😊

Weekly Reset! Weekly Reset!

⚡ ISSUE #2: Active Connection & Brain Food

đŸ€ SOCIAL FOCUS: The "2-Minute Check-in"

"Check on your friends—even the ones who seem like they have it all together."

It's easy to stick to casual banter, memes, and surface-level small talk. But strong friendships are built when people feel truly seen.

  • The Quick Fix: Try sending a random "zero-pressure" check-in text to a friend this week.

  • What to say: "Hey! No need to text back right away, just wanted to say I hope your week is going smooth and I appreciate you!"

  • Why It Works: It builds deep loyalty without creating an obligation or social fatigue.

🧠 EMOTIONAL FOCUS: Taming "Imposter Syndrome"

Feeling like you’re faking it or don’t belong in a class/group? You’re not alone.

Over 70% of teens experience Imposter Syndrome—the secret fear that everyone else knows what they're doing while you're just guessing.

  • The Mindset Shift: Separate feelings from facts. Feeling out of your depth just means you are stepping out of your comfort zone, which is where real growth happens.

  • The Action: Keep a "Wins Folder" on your phone. Screenshot nice feedback from teachers, good grades, or supportive messages from friends. Read it whenever doubt creeps in.

đŸ„— HEALTHY LIVING FOCUS: Avoid the 2:00 PM Crash

Energy slump right after lunch? It's usually about what and how you ate.

Heavy sugars and refined carbs cause a massive blood sugar spike followed by an immediate energy crash right around 5th or 6th period.

  • The Upgrade: Pair your carbs with protein or healthy fats. If you eat an apple or chips, pair it with peanut butter, a handful of almonds, or a string cheese.

  • Pro-Tip: Drink a full bottle of water before reaching for an energy drink or soda—dehydration disguised as tiredness is the #1 cause of afternoon brain fog.

🎯 THIS WEEK’S MICRO-CHALLENGE

  • Social: Send 1 surprise appreciation text.

  • Emotional: Create your "Wins Folder" photo album on your phone.

  • Healthy Living: Add a protein source to your afternoon snack every day this week.
