Fisher Family Update
September 5, 2025

Dear Fisher Families,
We’ve had a great (almost) first full week of school! One of the highlights was welcoming our Kindergarten students to Fisher for their very first days. They are settling in nicely and quickly becoming part of our school community. A special thank you goes out to our teachers, staff, siblings and fifth grade helpers, who did an outstanding job guiding our newest students around the building and helping them get to their dismissal spots safely and on time.
Our students have been working hard to learn classroom routines and expectations, and before long the pace of academic learning will pick up. We invite you to join us this Wednesday evening for our annual Curriculum Night, where you’ll hear more about what your child(ren) will be learning this year.
Below, you’ll find a list of upcoming events. We look forward to seeing you at Fisher soon as we celebrate the beginning of the 2025–2026 school year together.
Have a great weekend,
Brian

The Fisher School Council is an advisory group that plays an important role in many aspects of the school. It is required by law that all schools have a School Council. According to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education (DESE), the main areas of responsibility for School Councils are as follows:
“The law outlines four major areas of responsibility for councils. School councils are to assist principals in:
Adopting educational goals for the school that are consistent with local educational policies and statewide student performance standards
Identifying the educational needs of students attending the school
Reviewing the annual school building budget
Formulating a school improvement plan”

Urgent alerts are considered to be "must read right now" messages, such as school closings, late buses, absence notifications, and emergencies. Non urgent alerts are considered to be reminders for spirit days, special events after school, etc.
