Musson Patout sales rep and former MES student, , McCall Baudoin recently stopped by the school to deliver special treats as a welcome back for the faculty and staff on behalf of Musson Patout Ford. We appreciated and welcomed the surprise. The cookie tray was enjoyed by all. Thank You, Musson Patout!

Once again this year Meaux Elementary is setting student attendance as a priority. Classes who meet the 97% attendance goal each month will receive that monthly reward. Students who have perfect attendance for the entire nine weeks will receive an extra recess following the nine week marking period. All students with perfect attendance for the year will be recognized at our end of year award ceremonies.

Fall picture day will be held on Wednesday, September 2nd. Students are to wear school uniforms as this picture will be utilized in our annual yearbook. All students will be photographed. Picture order forms were sent home last week. Please contact the school office should you have questions.

Students may participate in our monthly 'Too Cute Tuesday" out of uniform dress for $2.00. Payment can be sent to the teacher in an envelope on the designated Tuesday. each month. This month our "Too Cute Tuesday" will be held on Tuesday, September 15th. Student dress must adhere to the VPSB dress code guidelines on this out of uniform day. All proceeds will go toward supporting technology needs of our school.

Once again this year, Meaux Elementary students and faculty will join in the celebration of NVHS Homecoming. Students may wear NVHS Homecoming attire on Thursday, September 24 as we honor our Patriot team. All dress must be within the VPSB dress code guidelines.

Ms. Laura and the AR Committee have set goals and guidelines for our AR Program as outlined below. All students must meet their goal within the given timeline and score with 85% accuracy in order to participate in the scheduled events. More information will be shared at a later time.

Welcome Back!! During the first week of school, our students rotated around the school to review our Meaux expectations and rules for each area. This rotation will be repeated after each major holiday. It is a great way for students to practice what is expected of them throughout the year. The students are to be commended for their behavior since school started. Thank you to all of our teachers and parents/guardians for supporting our PBIS model

Our first PBIS event will be our “Fall Kickoff” on Thursday, September 17. The students will be able to wear their favorite team shirt, jersey or their spirit shirt with uniform bottoms for 5 Pat Cash.

The first nine weeks event will be celebrated in October with our annual “Fall Fest”. This has been a student favorite, but we will need volunteers to make game booths and run them for the day. I will be posting a sign up on Meaux Elementary Class Dojo soon with directions on how to participate. Right now our tentative date is scheduled for October 16, 2026 in case you need to check your schedule.

In order to attend this event, students can not receive a major infraction for the first nine weeks of school. Please continue to encourage your child/children to follow the expectations at school. Our school is successful because of your support!

Each month one student from each classroom is named the Meaux Model Student representing their classroom. Parents and guardians will be notified throughout the year if your child is selected. Parents and guardians of our September Meaux Model Students are invited to have lunch with their children during their designated lunch time on Thursday, September 24th. Visitors must report to the office, sign in and obtain a visitor tag before reporting to the cafeteria. As a reminder, no commercial fast food may be brought in. Visitor's lunch cost is $5.50 and the exact amount for payment is appreciated as the cafeteria cannot give change.

4-H is a great organization that allows students to be a part of many great learning opportunities, while giving back to their community. We hold monthly meetings during the school day. At these meetings, your child will receive information about upcoming events. Information will be posted in the MES 4-H Google Classroom. Our 4-H Club will officially kick off the new year of service and learning on Tuesday, September 8. All students in 4th and 5th grade are invited to this first meeting to learn more about our club.

The policy for excused/unexcused absences has been updated for the 2026-2027 school year.

Excused Absences: Parents may submit up to 5 parent-written excuses per year for illnesses that would not warrant going to the doctor (Example: headache, virus, etc). The 6th parent note received in a school year will be considered unexcused.

Unexcused Absences: Parent notes received after the 5th absence for illnesses that would not warrant going to the doctor (Example: headache, virus, etc).
