🌿 Lenten Clothing Drive
This Lent, our school community is invited to live out our faith through action by participating in our Clean, Used Clothing Drive.
As part of our Green STEM program, we are called to see environmental responsibility as more than good practice — it is a moral responsibility. Rooted in Pope Francis' encyclical Laudato Si’, we are reminded that caring for our common home is a sacred duty. We guide our students to recognize their role as faithful stewards of God’s creation.
Through this Lenten initiative, students will:
- Practice almsgiving by helping OLPH Parish Clothing Nook
- Reduce waste by giving clothing a second life
- Connect science, sustainability, and faith in action
- Grow as compassionate caretakers of creation
About OLPH Parish Clothing Nook
The OLPH Church Clothing Nook is a ministry dedicated to serving those in need by providing clothing at no cost. All items are offered FREE of charge thanks to the generous donations of our parish and local community, allowing us to share compassion and dignity with every visitor.
We Are Collecting:
Gently used clothing or household linens
✅ CLEAN items
✅ Clothing in good condition
❌ No holes
❌ No stains
❌ No damaged items
All donated clothing should be something you would confidently pass on to a friend.
We will be accepting donations from now until Spring Break (March 2nd - March 20th, 2026). Donations can be dropped off in the office.
4M 👟
We are in the planning stage of the scientific method… coming up soon, a make your own shoe competition, followed by a big race once we have perfected our projects!
We had a great opportunity to learn about Kente Cloth today from Lana Santana, the founder of the Fort Saskatchewan Multicultural Association. It was a wonderful way to honour and recognize Black History Month.
