I don't know about you guys, but I am over this winter weather!! Despite the cold and snow there were lots of great things taking place in the Elementary this week. Hop over to our elementary Facebook page and take a peek.
As of now our plan is to have Valentine parties on Friday at 2:00 for our 4 year old preschool through 6th grade classes. Three year old preschool will have their party on Thursday at 10:00.
Also, I want to shout out our Smithton Youth Sports teams. They are wrapping up their seasons strong. 4th grade girls and 6th grade boys walked away with 2nd place finishes. The 4th grade boys and 5th grade girls teams took 3rd. While SYS isn't affiliated with our school we are so very proud of the hard work and dedication of our little athletes and appreciate all the coaches that allow this program to be successful.
Parents we need your help. We have an excessive amount of toys making it to school each day. They are creating disruptions to the learning environment, from misplaced or taken and traded to simply pulling focus from class work. Many of our elementary teachers have stuffed animal "tickets" in their class stores that students can earn and some classes have compliment parties that allow for an occasional stuffed animal/PJ party. We would appreciate your support in keeping the toys home outside of the earned rewards that our teachers are able to monitor and plan for.
