11 Days in the Life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

On Tuesday, January 31, Tacoma Arts Live will be performing a presentation to our students on the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

We are excited to learn about the life and legacy of Dr. King through eleven poetry vignettes featuring spoken word, dance, music, shadow play, and historic images. This show focuses on King’s relationship with communities, how he challenged and changed our nation, and his message to honor the dignity and rights of every citizen and person. The presentation will challenge our students to continue Dr. King’s mission and legacy each and every day.

Thank you to our PTA for providing us this learning opportunity!

STEM Fair Registration Extended to January 20th

We are so looking forward to the SBLSD STEM Fair on February 25th, 2023. As in past years, one of the most exciting ways we can encourage student participation in the event is through student projects.

All students K-12 are encouraged to submit and showcase a project related to science, technology, or engineering at this year's event. Registration is currently open, with the extended deadline of January 20th, 2023. Please note: student projects do not need to be completed by this date - we just need to know that they plan to complete a project.
