Owl Families,

What a week it has been! From snow days to cold days, it certainly kept us on our toes. We hope you and your family have been staying safe and warm through it all. February is here, and with it comes parent-teacher conferences! We encourage all families to schedule a time to meet with your child’s teacher on February 4th. Please note that this will be an early release day to accommodate conferences, with school dismissing at 1:05 PM. You can sign up for conferences using the link HERE.

We are also thrilled to announce our January Owl Supporter winners: Trisha and Zarah O’Keefe, Calvin O’Keefe’s amazing family! This month’s nomination came from Ms. Whelan, who shared how the family stepped in during our classroom “move‑in” process. When she needed help covering old metal cabinets with contact paper, Calvin’s Aunt Karen Reyes and cousin Jon spent the entire day transforming every cabinet—turning something worn and outdated into something fresh, new, and beautiful. Their generosity and hard work made a huge difference! We are so grateful to the O’Keefe family for their kindness and for embodying the spirit of our school community. 💛🦉

With Gratitude,

Heather Kama-Starr and Kyle Cohen

The School Choice Portal is officially open. For families who wish to keep their children at Riverside School for the 2026–2027 school year, no action is needed at this time—your enrollment will continue automatically.

However, all Pre-K and 8th grade families must make a choice for their child in the portal. If you have any questions about this process, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to help!

WINTER WEATHER AND OUTDOOR RECESS WINTER WEATHER AND OUTDOOR RECESS

With the weather getting colder we want to remind all families that our goal is to get outside for recess everyday, even when it's cold. Please make sure that your PreK-8th graders come prepared to go outside for approximately 20 minutes each day of the week. One thing to note, when the playground is full of snow or ice we need to stay inside. Here's hoping Mother Nature affords us time outside in the New Year!

Hi Riverside Families!

I hope everyone is staying warm and enjoying all of the "cold days." This is for all parents not actively using the Online Gradebook.

The FACE office has used a plug in to create accounts for all parents that have an active email address on file with the school. Check your emails for an email from Power School or CMSD with instructions on how to access your account and set up the app. Emails were sent out between mid-December and now. If you did not receive an email, I have a list of the usernames and passwords that were created for you. If you do not have an active email address on file, please reach out to Mrs. Davis or Ms. Smith in the office so they can update your students' records. The FACE office will run this Plug In every 2 weeks with any updated email addresses to create accounts. If you have any questions or need assistance, please call/text me at 216-370-3357 or message me on Dojo with your student's name/grade and your phone number.
