CELEBRATING HALLOWEEN CELEBRATING HALLOWEEN

zoom_out_map

What a fantastic Halloween celebration we had! Our students truly embraced the spirit of the season, showcasing their creativity in various activities. From decorating pumpkins to represent their favorite characters to playing trick-or-treat tag during our STEAM special, the excitement was palpable!

Our second graders took it a step further by saying "boo" to a fixed mindset—the idea that our abilities are predetermined. They took time to write down personal goals, reflecting their eagerness to try new things and learn from mistakes. It's inspiring to see such determination at this age!

We also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the families who joined us for our Halloween parties and parade on Thursday. The creativity displayed in the costumes was incredible, and the joy on the students' faces was truly special.

A big shoutout to our parent volunteers for organizing the classroom parties and to all families for their generous donations. Your support makes events like this possible!

We hope everyone had a spook-tacular Halloween, and we look forward to more exciting activities ahead!

OPEN ENROLLMENT & INTENT TO RETURN SURVEY OPEN ENROLLMENT & INTENT TO RETURN SURVEY

We’re excited to announce that Open Enrollment begins today across the District! This is a great opportunity for families to enroll their students at schools outside of their designated neighborhood. At Gold Rush, we have limited open enrollment spots available for the upcoming school year. To help families learn more about our school, we will be hosting a building tour on November 7th at 5 PM. This is a wonderful chance to see our facilities and meet our dedicated staff.

Please note that current open enrolled families do not need to reapply for the Open Enrollment process. However, families whose students will be transitioning to Cimarron Middle School for 6th grade will need to complete this process.

Our goal is to maintain small class sizes, and knowing your family’s intent to return for the 2025-2026 school year is crucial in helping us determine the grade levels where we can accept new families. We kindly ask that you complete the Intent to Return survey as soon as possible—only one survey is needed per family. Click here for the survey.

Please note that the login process for accessing the EngagED Parent Portal has recently changed. Parents/guardians must now add @p.dcsdk12.org after their current username when logging into the EngagED Parent Portal. For example, if you have previously accessed with a username of absmith, you will now use absmith@p.dcsdk12.org for your username along with your district password which has not changed. If you need to change your district password and/or manage your account, you can do so on the DCSD website here. If you run into difficulty logging in to EngagED using the new login process outlined above, please contact the DCSD IT Department by clicking here, or calling 303-387-0001.

Thank you for your cooperation and support as we plan for another successful year!

HONORING VETERANS & THOSE WHO SERVE HONORING VETERANS & THOSE WHO SERVE

Gold Rush Elementary is incredibly proud of those who serve our country. We are excited to invite active or retired military to special assembly on November 11 at 9:45 AM. This is a wonderful opportunity to show our appreciation for their service and sacrifice.

We warmly welcome participants to join their Gold Rush student for coffee and doughnuts at 9:15 AM in the cafeteria before the assembly. Due to limited capacity, we are specifically inviting Veterans and active military members. If you or someone you know would like to attend, please RSVP by November 4. Click here to RSVP.

We look forward to coming together to honor and celebrate our heroes!
