Sick Children Stay at Home

Parents and guardians should keep a child home if they have any of these symptoms:

● Fever (100.4 degrees or higher within the last 24 hours)

● Vomiting (2 times or more)

● Red or puffy eyes with crust or goop

● Diarrhea (2 times or more)

● Excessive coughing or sneezing

Children must stay home until they have been fever-free for 24 hours without using any medicine to lower the fever. Parents and guardians should also keep their child home for 24 hours after the last time they vomited or had diarrhea. Any student who is absent from school cannot attend special events (like holiday parties) or after-school activities that day.

Important Note on Medicine: Please do not send your child to school if you have given them medicine to suppress their symptoms. While medicine like Tylenol or Motrin can make a child feel better for a short time, they still spread germs to others.

A message from our PTO

Family Movie Night is tonight--Doors open at 5:30pm

*Important* All students have to be accompanied by an adult for the entire evening.

Pizza and concessions will be sold for all who attend!

The PTO will be voting in new leadership in April. Are you interested in giving back to your local school by serving on the PTO? Maybe you have some creative ways to give back? This could be your spot!

💡 Parent Moves: Reading Questions?💡

Some of us were never trained to be teachers and may have questions about helping readers at home. One important aspect of reading is helping students see patterns--patterns in word formation, patterns that make rhyming words, patterns with characters... This link provides some good insights about both patterns and categorizing. Review the "For Families" link at the top of the page to peruse some answers to other questions you have. Remember, Bath, BOOKS, and Bed beginning at 7:30pm is one of the most important parts of parenting elementary aged kiddos.
