Principals' Bi-Weekly Wrap-Up Principals' Bi-Weekly Wrap-Up

Next Week!

Greetings Neidig Families,

We would like to make you aware of two important events taking place next week.

First Trimester Progress Reports

Early next week, you will receive your child's first trimester progress report. This mid-trimester report comes to you as an email from the Neidig office. The progress report provides you with a general update about your child's progress with grade level standards. First trimester report cards are emailed home on December 3. Parent-Teacher conferences take place on November 3, so this progress report provides you with concrete information about your child's current achievement levels prior to receiving the first trimester report card in December. Please be on the lookout for this report!

Thursday's PAL Meeting - Kindergarten Teachers!

As previously shared, this year's PAL meetings serve as a collaborative meeting for PAL and the school team. Each meeting includes a presentation to help families further understand our instructional programs at Neidig AND a discussion about PAL events and activities.

This month, our four kindergarten teachers, Mrs. Reed, Mrs. Rivera, Mrs. Godshall, and Miss Pfaff will share information about the important learning activities kindergarten students complete each day. We hope our kindergarten families (and any other interested families!) will join us for this learning session. This month's PAL meeting takes place on Thursday, October 16, at 6:30 PM in the Neidig cafeteria. PLEASE JOIN US!!!

October is Principal Appreciation Month October is Principal Appreciation Month

Our principals play a vital role in shaping the culture of our schools, supporting students and staff, and leading with dedication every single day. This month, we want to celebrate them—and we’d love your help!

Take a moment to share a thankful note, words of encouragement, or even a lighthearted story about your favorite QCSD principal. Throughout October, we’ll make sure these messages are delivered to remind our principals just how much they are valued and appreciated by our community.

Take a Vet to School Day! Take a Vet to School Day!

Veterans Day takes place on November 11th every year. Veterans Day is celebrated all over the country with parades and celebrations. Neidig Elementary will be honoring our Vets on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. We would like to show our Veterans how much we value their service while inspiring our Neidig children. We are inviting Veterans who have a connection to a Neidig student (family members or friends) to join us on this special day to share their experiences in the armed forces.

If you have a Veteran who you would like us to honor, please complete this Google Form by Wednesday, October 29, 2025.

  • Veterans who can attend in person, our celebration will take place at Neidig on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 from 2:30-3:40. Please complete this form if you are able to attend in person.
  • We can also honor Veterans who are unable to attend in person. If you have a family member who is a Vet (either living or deceased), you can complete the Wall of Heroes Template to be hung in our school hallways. If you completed one last year and your child was not in 5th grade, we still have it! You may complete more than one tribute. Wall of Heroes Template

Here is a video (Parenting in a Digital Age) with useful information about media balance and well-being for our children. It shares a few helpful ideas for setting healthy boundaries and support for children to use technology safely and appropriately. This resource is brought to us from Common Sense Education, which supports K-12 schools with what educators need to empower the next generation of digital citizens.
