Laura Patranella, Recipient of the Superintendent Apple Award for October 2025

"In Seguin ISD, we believe exceptional students come from exceptional educators who show up every day with commitment, consistency, dedication, encouragement, and passion. Those words perfectly describe this month’s Superintendent’s Apple Award recipient.

For more than ten years, she has served across several campuses and grade levels, leaving a lasting impact on hundreds of students. Her heart for children shows in the strong relationships she builds and in her constant belief that every student can grow.

When new challenges arise, she rises higher. After changing grade levels in recent years, she once again embraced change this fall by restructuring her instructional block to support student success. Her principal, Mrs. Rhonda Trainer Garcia, shared that she approaches every shift with confidence and a positive attitude. Education is not easy work, yet she continues to adapt, overcome, and keep students at the center.

Mrs. Trainer Garcia says she 'empowers her students to think critically, take ownership of their learning, and meet every challenge with confidence. She models the very qualities we hope to instill in our students: resilience, collaboration, and a love for learning.'

Her husband describes her as 'crazy passionate' about teaching reading and best teaching practices. That passion is making waves beyond Seguin ISD, including several podcast interviews and recognition in Education Week.

She is a Seguin ISD teacher, married to a Seguin ISD teacher, and a proud Seguin ISD parent of three Matadors learning and growing in our schools. This family believes in our mission and lives it daily.

Please help me celebrate someone who makes Matador Nation the special place it is, our October Superintendent’s Apple Award recipient, Mrs. Laura Patranella!"
