Welcome Jill Braman, Principal of Colon Elementary School!
We're excited to announce Jill Braman as the new principal of Colon Elementary School! This selection followed a very transparent and collaborative interview process, involving a diverse group of contributors: over 35 individuals were involved, 20 in the interview process, including business owners, parents, teachers, staff, board members and leadership team members conducted multiple interview rounds.
Jill Braman, a proud former Magi, has a wealth of experience in family and community engagement. She excels in communication and building relationships with students, families, and the community, which boosts student success. Jill is passionate about creating a safe and inclusive environment, and her expertise in Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) will benefit our school community and student well-being. With valuable experience from Vicksburg Community Schools, Jill aligns with our commitment to strong teaching, teamwork through Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), and data-driven support for students and families.

I am thrilled to announce our programming options for this summer! More will come in the next couple of weeks, including information about our "Summer Shuttle" and the opportunity for students to participate in partial days depending on their program.
We are also offering "Old School High School Summer School" - a non-virtual/computer program option to engage our learners who need credit recovery. The launch of our ROX For Girls Program- The "ROX for Girls" program, or Ruling Our eXperiences, is a youth development program aimed at empowering girls in middle school and high school. It focuses on building confidence, leadership skills, and healthy relationships through evidence-based curriculum and supportive peer groups.
