Year 5 in Lindisfarne Year 5 in Lindisfarne

We aim to provide many enrichment activities beyond the classroom and are delighted that these have already begun by the third week of a busy start to the new school year. We have more after school activities now, and the big news is the Year 5 children being in Lindisfarne for three days this week! Today they have enjoyed a boat trip to the Farne Islands and a visit to Alnwick Castle. We hope they will report further on all their adventures in next week's Update but here are a few photos to show you a couple of the fun activities they have been experiencing (we hope they slept well after all the exertion)!

Thank you also to all the staff who accompanied the children, we're sure they'll also need the weekend to catch up on some sleep!

Our Weekly Superstars Our Weekly Superstars

Congratulations to this week's stars, celebrated in worship this morning:

Nursery - Freddie H for amazing story telling, and sharing books and stories with his friends.

Reception – Mackenzie for trying really hard to answer questions in carpet time. It has been lovely to hear his wonderful ideas. He has also been a very kind friend.

Year 1 – Archie G for how well he has come into school this week. Every day he has had a smile on his face and has been ready to learn. He has also shown a super attitude to learning throughout the day.

Year 2 – Taylor for showing resilience and determination in maths. She has worked hard this week to improve her understanding of flexible partitioning.

Year 3 – Iris for being such a trustworthy and responsible member of the class. As our 'recommended reads' librarian she has been doing a fantastic job.

Year 4 – Ava-Rose for excellent contributions to our science learning this week. She listened carefully and was able to identify the variables in our fair test.

Year 5 – Emily for being a fantastic help in Year 3, it has been a pleasure having her in the class!

Year 6 – Lottie for showing great courage and doing a speech on Monday, challenging herself in maths and being creative in English.

Staff Vacancy Staff Vacancy

Working in the lunch hall at school is a great way to have a part-time job within school hours, and no work in school holidays! Several of our teaching assistants also started as Midday Supervisory Assistants and have moved on to longer hours working in classrooms, so it can be a good way to discover if you would like a career working with children. Please contact Mrs Rich in the office if you would like more details, and feel free to share the advert with any friends or family who might be interested.
