Career Technical Education and Community
School is back in session and we look forward to working together as a school district and communities to prepare each student for the future. This is an exciting time for students, parents and school staff as we move into a new school year. It is also an exciting time for our area communities and the surrounding area. The community is seeing increased job growth creating more and more opportunities for all of us. I believe in order to make our communities a better place the Meade School District needs to be an active participant and engage the community about the future.
This past year the Meade School Board engaged in a facility and demographic study. An area of importance cited was the expansion of Career Technical Education (CTE) opportunities within the school district. One of our roles as a district is to develop and expose opportunities to workforce entry, certificate programs, 2-4 year programs after graduation that develop into fulfilling and sustainable careers for our students.
It is important for community involvement and engagement with parents, local business owners, and community members to actively participate in discussions about what skills and industries are in demand locally. The purpose would be to ensure CTE programs align with the specific needs of the community, increasing the chances of students finding meaningful employment opportunities within the district after graduation.
We will be posting dates for meetings this fall and winter to engage the community and understand what are local needs. We invite you to participate by attending meetings, listening, asking questions and giving input about the future of your school and community.

Educating youth takes a community effort, and because of that the Meade School Board is encouraging parents, guardians and other interested patrons to volunteer their time, knowledge and talents.
Members of the community bring new energies and resources into the schools and expand the walls of the classrooms. School volunteers enrich the educational program and strengthen the schools’ relationships with homes, businesses, public agencies and private institutions. All volunteers in the Meade School District do so without pay or employee benefits, except for workers’ compensation. For those interested in volunteering.
