BENNY PASSES THE MIC TO OUR PTA PRESIDENT

We hope your 2024 has gotten off to a great (although chilly) start! Boggess PTA has several exciting things planned for this semester. Read on for a full spring calendar.

If there is one thing you remember from this newsletter issue, please let it be this: WE NEED YOU!

We have several board positions to fill for the 2024-2025 school year. These positions are critical to continue our Boggess traditions next year. Please plan to attend our PTA meeting on Thursday, January 25, at 6:00 p.m. Our current board members will explain their role and answer questions so you can decide the best way for you to get involved.

There is no PTA without you. ❤️

Thanks,

Sylvia Roy

Why should I become a PTA officer?

  • Directly influence what the PTA does.
  • Support your student, all students, and teachers.
  • Continue Boggess traditions and family engagement.
  • Stay in the know.
  • Build your village of parents to help your children and family.
  • It's fun!

Which positions are available?

  • President
  • Treasurer
  • Vice President - Programs
  • Vice President - Membership
  • Vice President - Volunteers
  • Vice President - Ways and Means
  • Grade Level Coordinator
  • and more...

Does it require a lot of time?

  • We have several positions that are flexible. Many of them can be done during off-hours. Most of our current board are working parents.

What if I don't know what to do?

  • You will! No one will be thrown into a position with zero guidance. Current board members are available to help transition to new board members, and Boggess PTA is lucky to have many volunteers with experience in different positions who can help. We are in this together.

I don't know what position I'd be good at.

  • We can help with that! Come to our January 25 meeting to hear from current board members and ask alllll the questions. We can help you find the right fit for you.

I want to help, but I have more questions...

  • Please reach out to President Sylvia Roy or any board member to get more information.

Please help PTA show our Amazing Boggess Teachers how much we appreciate and love them. Each month, we are collecting snack donations to deliver to the teachers. Not every month's snacks will be the same. Let's show the teachers how thankful we are for all that they do!

Boggess Reflections Artist Ansley S. Is State Bound! Boggess Reflections Artist Ansley S. Is State Bound!

One of our Boggess artists, fourth grader Ansley S., has advanced to the state level for the PTA Reflections Contest. This is a wonderful achievement as nearly 60,000 students participate in the program annually and less than 3% of those advance to Texas PTA. Her dance choreography entry titled "Unstoppable - I Can Change The World" can be enjoyed below.

We are so proud of you, Ansley!

BENNY'S VOLUNTEER OF THE WEEK

Benny would like to thank Nermeen Louis for all her work as our PTA Reflections Chair. Nermeen has chaired this event for several years, motivating and celebrating so many young artists. Thanks for all you do!
