October Weekly Update ~ October 10, 2025
📣 Families! Here's What's Happening This Week:
"Crisp air, cozy sweaters, and falling leaves".
A note from Mr. Lee
Thank You for a Great Conference Week!
A huge thank you to all of our Carter families who participated in Parent-Teacher Conferences last week! We had just over 50% attendance, which is a fantastic turnout and truly speaks to the strong partnership between home and school.
It was wonderful connecting with so many of you during our in-person conferences—there’s nothing quite like seeing our community come together, face-to-face, for what matters most: supporting our students. Your involvement makes a difference, and we truly value the conversations, questions, and collaboration that happen during these meetings.
Now that conferences are over, here are a few simple ways parents can keep the momentum going:
Check Parent Portal regularly to stay on top of grades, assignments, and teacher notes.
Keep the lines of communication open—don’t hesitate to reach out to teachers if you have questions or concerns.
Set goals with your child based on the feedback you received to help them take ownership of their learning.
Celebrate growth—big or small. Recognizing progress keeps students motivated!
Thank you again for being such an important part of our Cougar community. Together, we can make this an outstanding year for every student.
Mr. Lee
Special Remarks from Mr. Syswerda

You’re More Than You Think You Are! Mini-Assembly
6th Grade girls had a 60-minute interactive presentation assembly which equipped participants through stories, music, and group activities this past Monday.
They were asked, Do you treat yourself and others the way you should? Participants began to identify areas in their own lives where they may not treat themselves with respect or see their own true value.
Tools were introduced and practiced which will counteract those negative patterns and develop self-awareness and more positive habits. The insight gained will easily translate to a more empathetic approach to peers who are struggling with their own self-worth. Attendees left encouraged and empowered, recognizing their own value and ready to see the value of others.
